Nit patna review from first year student.

Mechanical engineering workshops and metal machine laps are inspiring . Curriculum are not up to date so we have to learn by our own . Teacher follow very old books . Faculty must improve by including new books and a interactive and visualized way of teaching like her teacher does . Exam difficulty levels are medium

At nit patna all students get internship opportunity,if he /she have 7+ cgpa , after 7 semester for 6 month paid or unpaid internship from good companys. The intership is project for them . Google, microsoft, tata , isro , drdo give intership to the students

Form 7th semester campus placement are started . Lot of great company comes . Average of mechanical is 12 lakh but overall average is 50 lakh approx. In mechanical department 100% placement ratio is happened this year but the trick is only students who get 8+ cgpa can sit for placement so the ratio is high . My plan is to do job in isro or go for mtech in iit

Year wise fo people, including me , whos family income is less than 1 lakh general category, have to pay 83000 aprrox including hotels and all other fees . Only for 1st time admission in 1st semester we have to pay 94250. For students, family income greater than 5 lakh have to pay tution fee along with fee which I pay as less than 1 lakh general catagory, tution fee is 62000 per semester means aprrox 1.2 lakh per year . For students, family income in the range of 1 to 5 lakh have 2/3 remmision in tution fee only other fees are same . For students belonging to reserved catagory they don't have to pay tution fee others are same . Details fee structure is given in the website of nit patna

There is low fest in this college as of the less size but I'm bhita there is good ammount of fest . 25 cluds are available, and if students want they can create new cluds after checking all constrains and pros . Books are very much available and there is a e book option for students so for book it is easy to access.

Kosi hostel is very good and kosi extension, bagmati is good for 1st year students.. And sone hostel is also ok but kosi is great as phd scholar are living there . For girls they only have one hostel ganga hostel. Hostel food is moderate for kosi due to phd scholar and for sone it is not good

I do councelling via jossa so there is float , slide , freeze option no rejection are possible. I choose nit patna as it is best college according to the rank the current political scenario. There is lot of good college rather than nit patna but I choose it as it in come in tier 2 college and far better than other low grade colleges. Admission process are very lengthy and too much documents are needed .

Faculty to students ratio vary .but approx it is 70-80 per professor and each professor haveapprox 2-3 teaching assistant ( phd scholar) We don't like the applied physics faculty as he teach us like we know everything and too fast with high level physics while this is not in our mechanical syllabus.also his explanation is not understandable by lot of students There is 2 class test , 1 mid semester exam and 1 end semester exam in one entire semester. Very less students fail the exams . Course curriculum is compact.

For boys the hostel in 1 year is outside of campus and the gate was closed at 10 pm so very less night life . For girls there was hostel inside campus so they have good night life. At evening the nearer ganga ghat so the view is good .
