Remarks

The college is good but the faculties should be more friendly to students, specially to the north Indian students moreover the exam pattern needs to be changed. It really creates a lot of pressure on students.

Entrance Preview

I took the SRMJEE and my rank was 17000+. I was called for the counseling, and after seeing the college, I could not have any second thought. I came to know that Mechanical ,and CSE is the best branch for B.Tech i simply chose Mechanical.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course structure is really good and well planned for first year,we are taught all the basic subjects like physics, math, and basic civil engineering, basic mechanical engineering, basic electronics engineering, etc. There are plenty chances of research.

Internships Opportunities

Core IT companies, Mechanical, Automobile and some civil companies ,mainly come to the college one need to maintain a good CGPA to be chosen by core companies.

Placement Experience

4.5

SRM is widely Known for its placement for the last years ,the college provided students with almost 100% placement core companies hire engineers from here, but one must keep a good CGPA for a decent package average package for a Mechanical engineer is 5-6 lakhs per annum.

College Events

5

Talking about events, SRM university is one of the best places to mention aarush and Milan are two grand events. Apart from that a lot of workshops, movie nights, etc happen here, though it's hard to maintain balance between studies and these activities.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure may seem a little bit expensive, but it's actually worth it anuual fee for most of the B.Tech courses is 2 lakhs and 15 thousands. Then the hostel fee is around 1 lakh the annual fee for nanotechnology and aerospace engineering is Rs.3,15000.

Fees and Financial Aid

Students can apply for loans availing student loan is easy also the top 100 rankers of board or central 10+2 exam are offered scholarships.

Campus Life

5

There are a lot of extra curricular activities in the campus there are gym, prayer hall, basket ball ground, tennis court, etc a lot of workshops are done often. The campus life is fun,but you will need to study a lot in your study time if you want to enjoy and also pass the semester.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

AC hostels are too much expensive, but the normal hostels are okay they are well maintained. Rooms are usually 2 or 3 sharing. Students are provided with free wifi the mess food is better than most of the colleges of India, but of course it's not what you call decent foods. The mess food are very hygienic though.

Alumni/Alumna

The hostels and classrooms for 1st year students are completely separated from Senior students there is no raging at all seniors can be helpful if you need suggestions about projects and exams.

Exam Structure

The infrastructure of the labs will not disappoint you all classes are equipped with air conditioners and projectors but the exam pattern is really frustrating sometimes cycle test 1,cycle test 2,Model exam, surprise tests, assingments, quizs and the end semester exam often seem too much pressure.

Admission

The admission process was pretty simple i was called for the counselling. There I chose my branch, then I had to pay the fees online. The hostel booking process was also conducted online. I finally arrived at the college on the day of enrollment. I had to carry my Secondary and Higher Secondary passing certificates with me. Note that students who scored 75% + in their 10+2 exam, are only eligible to take admission.

Faculty

3.5

To be honest, the faculties here disappointed me a little some of the faculties are really friendly and interested to teach. But there are many teachers who are rude i won't talk about their qualifications ,cause I'm not much qualified to do so,but most of them are Ph.D degree holder.

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

Placement Experience:

Students are open to campus placements from 2nd year onwards. There are many companies who visit such as Delloite, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, NatWest, Nokia, etc. Highest package offered is 42 lpa and lowest is maybe 2-4lpa. Around 90% of students get placed here. My plans is to get a job through campus recruitment. Currently I got an internship through campus recruitment in Cognizant so the recruitment is quite nice here.

Placement Experience:

One thing I really need to appreciate at CIT is its placement training program. The placement team conducts regular sessions on 1. aptitude 2. coding 3. communication skills 4. group discussions and 5. interview preparation which helped me feel more confident during placements. The trainers were friendly and always encouraged us to improve our skills step by step. They provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the training process. Mock interviews and one to one assessments helped me to understand my strength and weak areas and I work on improvements . These sessions not only improved my technical and communication skills but also boosted my confidence . The placement training team played an important role in preparing me for career opportunities and industry expectation

Chennai Institute of Technology is an instituition that truly prioritizes student career growth . The placement cell is exceptionallu well-organized ,consistently connecting students with reputed companies across various industries. What makes CIT stood out is the quality of its training staff. They focus heavily on communication , technical knowledge and competitive preparation ,align students with what top companies expect ,and contiuosly push us to improve and meet industry standards. Their structured training helped me to clearly identify my strengths and work on my weak areas, which made a huge difference during interviews and boosted my overall confidence. The department faculty are equally commnedable ,knowledgable ,approachable and genuinely invested in student career. Overall CIT is an excellent choice for anyone focused on building a strong and sucessful career
