Remarks

First of all, it's an University and not a separate college. It's a post graduate teaching department of biochemistry. It was established in 1946 and one of the oldest department in university. So it has a heritage of so many years. Also, University has career oriented courses and opportunities for students and there is many more activities which improves once overall personality.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course because of my personal interest in it and in biological sciences and research. The university has highly qualified and experienced faculty. It follows both teaching methods like traditional as well as modern teaching methods. The course follows semester pattern. There are 4 semesters in this 2 years of course. It's neither too easy nor too tough to pass, one only have to be focused to score good.

Currently there is no campus placement in the department. But the department offers jobs to their students as a teacher. And it also guide students for their future plans.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure varies as per caste reservation and scholarships. As it comes under government sector, everyone can manage the fees. Department offers job as a teacher.

Campus Life

The infrastructure of the campus is very well maintained and is surrounded by lush green ambience. The department is housed with the infrastructure for research in almost all aspects of biochemistry. Apart from study, many more extra curricular activities are held every year for students as well as faculties which gives an immense joy to everyone. Cultural fest and sports are organized in the end of the every year by the students only. And this is the best thing about the department that it gives every freedom to students which helps them grow more and to have that experience.

A campus life you must live once in your life - Fergusson College

Placement Experience:

Placements in Fergusson are pretty good. Students are eligible for sitting in the placement drives from the 3rd semester, we also get Pre-placment activities and tests before the drive starts. We get companies like Axtria, Vois , bluepineapple etc on campus. The highest package is 10 - 12 lakhs and 4-6 lakhs on an average. In my batch out of the 30 people we 20 are placed so far on campus.

Placement Experience:

The placements in the GIPE are decent. This year the highest package offered was 18 lakhs per annum by Deloitte and IDFC FIRST Bank. Although the placements are not 100% but it's around 60%. Students need to work hard and score well in aptitude test and they should start the preparation from the second semester onwards so that they can easily manage their end semester exams as well as the aptitude test. The average placement package is around 8-9 lakhs. My plan is to get a corporate job and gain some experience and exposure in the corporate world and learn how the things actually work. Many companies that come to the college are looking for data analytics role. The ratio of the companies looking for consultant, risk analyst is less based on market demand and other circumstances.

By the end of sem3 itself, the postgraduates are deployed into interviews for certain internships. But if you are with good academic scores and knowledge you can even get directly placed. Every individual is given 3 chances by the college to get and crack the interview but if the student is not able to then he is guided to where to apply but mostly ICRI makes sure everyone is placed as the college proudly stays with its 100% placement tag line. As I told here there are varied background people here with different needs of roles, the highest package I have seen getting is 15L pa to the lowest of 3L pa which even depends upon the company to your broad spectrum of knowledge. To specify which companies come here for recruitment are sun pharma, Cipla, and many more there are all 20+ companies that come and hire the intellectuals. To specify about me I am planning to get a CRC post as a start for CRA in the future.

PG not given any campus you will get a job on your ability. We have to prepare for set net after MSc but there are some companies visited college like Wipro. They provide job but the salary is around 25000 per month.

The college life sucks but its okay you have fun too

The application process for little hard . In application process you need to bring all the documents in order to apply. And the cut off went high of mhtcet exam . There were no aspects that i didn't liked because all were necessary process The eligibility of the course is 10+2 and plus entrance exam The application form for this course you can find on cet cell website. The fees for application form is upto 500 as per category . Application dates are released from few weeks form results.
