Remarks

Good college with knowledgeable faculty. Autonomous college. Lots of opportunities to improve technical knowledge. Technical workshops and seminars conducted by different councils. Activites other than curriculum

Course Curriculum Overview

All the faculty are good and have utmost knowledge of the subject they teach. Labs are provided with all the latets instruments that our required.Help students with all the difficulties and guide them through right path.

Placement Experience

Various companies like Accenture, Barclays, Colgate IT visit the college and place students on a large number because of the quality of education we receive.

College Events

Technical events are fun and we can see where we stand among other students. Cultural and Sports fest are conducted on inter collegiate level, students from all colleges in Mumbai are invited to participate in the events conducted. College also provide with funds for the students of UMIT to participate at intercollegiate level in different colleges.

Placement Experience:

From 7th Sem, students are eligible for placements and undergo placement training. Many companies has visited so far but the big ones are Godrej, BEL, Framatome, etc. The highest package for mechanical was 7.5 LPA and the avg package was around 5 LPA with a majority of job roles as GET. Almost 95% students are placed. I'm preparing for GATE ME for higher studies

Placement Experience:

If one wants direct placements in comapnies such as Wipro, Cognizant, Hexaware, TCS and many more, SIT is the place. Highest is still unbeatable as one student in 2023 got a paycheck of 50 lakhs per annum from SIT. Even the average is over 10 lakhs now as most students are placed through SIT placements cell.

Course curriculum is also good and it is explained in detail on the college's website and there are labs for the courses which made learning fast and easy. Relevance(industry alignment)->8/10 The curriculum is designed to keep up with the industry needs especially in fast growing fields like computer science, management, design and pharmacy. Updated course such as AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, data science and 3D printing are included for tech students. Industry exposure depends on the students initiative it's not equally strong in every department. Comprehensiveness-> 7.5/10 First year courses focus on building strong basics in science, mathematics and communication skills. Later semesters introduce specialisation, electives, research projectsand soft skill training. The curriculum also includes personality development, entrepreneurship and innovation modules. A few departments could integrate new technologies fatser into the syllabus. LIFE AT USHA MITTAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY.

i applied in difffrent colleges like ST. Francis college of engineering, borivali , Atharva college of engineering , malad etc. I didnt make it there as being a student belonging to the open category the cutoff for my desired branch was a bit higher whereas my college provided me with an opportunity to be eligibible for my desired branch.
