Basically the medical college selection is totally based on marks on NEET exam. Yet there are some benefits of choosing Kolhapur than other colleges. 1) The hostel rooms and the campus is pretty good. Rooms specifically are better than other colleges. 2) Teaching and exam conduction is at par with other colleges. 3)More clinical exposure in Undergraduation: Less resident doctors, so you get more work in internship, hence you get more responsibility than your mumbai-pune counterparts & you learn more. 4)Negligible ragging, Seniors are our friends. They help us a lot & guide us at various instances.

Teachers are very good and experienced in their job. Most of the teachers have the experience of as many years as our age is. Syllabus is completed within time and it runs in parallel with other medical Colleges. College is attached with CPR hospital which is one of the oldest hospitals of INDIA. Very good clinical exposure. During internship, we will get to learn & perform a lot of spinal anaesthesia, Intubation, normal vaginal delivery, POP slab, intracath,Suturing, Foley's catheter, etc. We also got to assist & watch closely many surgeries, eventhough I got to do very less in that, but it's a start.Good clinical exposure while wards in clinical postings during 3rd year & final year has all specialities & few super specialities like neurosurgery, urosurgeey,etc it has good Trauma-ICU, Medicine-ICU, CVTC.you get to see a varitey of cases (than your private college counterparts) as it's district government hospital

Internship has to be done in CPR hospital. The stipend as of now is 12000 rupees per month.

After completion of ug(mbbs) students can clear neet pg for doing masters. Or can start working in any government hospitals. They always have the option of starting their own Clinic.

Campus life is amazing. 1-We have our own Gym, cricket pitch, football ground within the campus. 2-A small and beautiful lake with waterfall popularly called as Shenda lake by students is just behind our hostels. 3-Campus with lush green scenary, and far away from the residential area provides peace. The climate is also pretty good especially in the rains.

1.Good hostels compared to other hostels in Maharashtra, I was in boys hostel at shenda park, good spacious 1 bhk room for 4 ppl surrounding by greenery, which I personally like 2.You get good new infrastructure. 1st year & other non clinical branches & newly formed infrastructure are shifted to shenda park which is 5 km from CPR hospital campus & girls hostel. But bus facilities are available by college & municipality too.

Hostels are better than any other colleges in Maharashtra. We are provided 1 bhk flats for sharing in between 4 people. All the facilities like kitchen, toilet, bathroom, separate study tables, separate cupboards are provided. Water supply is available 24 by 7 which is not the case in many other colleges.
