Remarks
The excellent teaching quality and practical experience was the most attractive feature. Moreover, it's location being close to my hometown Mumbai and comfortable transport facilities (train,bus,car) being available also helped me. Spacious campus and clean environment, away from the busier city life are also few features.
Course Curriculum Overview
The core syllabus of MBBS hasn't changed much as I have heard my professors saying that they too read the same. However, emerging aspects of health care are focussed upon and textbooks are being duly revised to fit in the newer findings. The practical experience and training is highly appreciated. We begin with clinical postings from second year. Teaching is kept at appropriate levels so that we correlate the theory and apply it in the suitable clinical scenarios. The quality of our faculty is the best attractive feature of our institute. Highly qualified, skilled and knowledgeable faculty are available round the clock to help us.
Internships Opportunities
Mandatory one year internship is included in the course. Top scoring 15% of students from the batch can choose to do it at their choice (hometown/famous institute/etc). Stipend is awarded only for government service and not in private colleges. Only on satisfactory completion of this internship will the course be declared complete and degree awarded. Further, students may work as junior residents in hospitals and clinics to gain enough practical skills.
Placement Experience
No placement program organized. Students choose according to their residence and further studies options.
College Events
Life at this campus was much more than my expectations. The clean air and warm surrounding refresh each day spent here. The college fests are the most awaited season each year. Two fests are organised by the students with support from staff - annual fest in March and Ganesh utsav. The participation from faculty and students are beyond mention. Research activities and co-curricular interests are well promoted and encouraged.
Fees and Financial Aid
Various scholarships are provided to students from reserved category and EBC. I haven't availed any as I am not eligible for the same.
Campus Life
Infrastructure is too good and well maintained. Spacious lecture halls, laboratories and corridors. Hospital wards for admitted patients and attached demonstration rooms for clinical classes. Regular cleaning and disinfection are carried out be the hospital infection control team. Sports facilities are minimal. Only organised during college fests.
Hostel Facilities
The only thing that needs a change in our institute is the hostel. Though it's very close to the college, the rooms are small and donot have enough storage space. Attached latrines are not provided. Common washrooms need to be repaired. Room cleaning is charged from the inmates. Mess food is satisfactory. Only vegetarian food provided. But closed on Sundays and holidays. And no wifi too
