Remarks

NUJS is situated right in the middle of main city of Kolkata. Airport is not far from the campus like some NLUs. High Court is also at just an hour away from our college. So it is easy for a student to go to the High Court to intern on weekends.

Course Curriculum Overview

Academics is given preference over any other matter in NUJS. Student body collaborates with the Academic department to ensure students' views regarding the academic pattern are heard. Our faculties are have qualifications from Ivy league institutes of the US.

Placement Experience

Many students get PPOs right after 4th year. PPOs are generally placement offers given to students who get it through internships. Apart from it many top level law firms come to our college on Day Zero for recruitment. Big names in law firm circle like Luthra and Luthra, AZB, Amarchand Mangaldas are frequent recruiters from NUJS.

College Events

Several students some to our college on the eve of Outlawed and Invicta. The whole campus is bustling with activities during the three days. Classes are cancelled so there is no need to worry about attendances. It is one of the biggest fests in Indian colleges.

Campus Life

Our university is not so huge in size compared to other law schools. There is no proper sports facilities like basketball courts but SAI has given permission to permit NUJS to use their facilities. A special card is required to avail the same.

A comprehensive review of MAKAUT , WB

Placement Experience:

from 6/7 th semester onwards students become eligible for campus placements. Infosys visited with around 22-23 offers , Cognizant visited with arount 15-16 offers , TCS visited with several offers(not sure how many) , that's it the big names. Apart from these small startups and companies visited too. Highest package offered was 11lpa by TCS , 9.6lpa by infosys, 6.48lpa by Cognizant. Profiles were ASE in TCS , PAT in CTS , SET in Infosys. The percentage of students placed was less arount 30-40% , mostly because the curriculum lacks placement prep. I have joined Cognizant as a Programmer Analyst Trainee after graduating .

Actually this is a general degree University , so I must mention that placement facalities are not so good. But yes , Job Fair is organised in University by some external agencies which offer jobs varying 2-2.5 lakhs per annum . But in the university most of the students do not accept that jobs. Half of the students are more interested on the higher studies. So ahet completing the fourth semester they prepare for PhD. And the another half are preparing for central government sponsored exams like CGL, CHSL, RRB, SBI , IBPS, LIC etc. University has a significant number of students who have qualified for Government Competitive exams.

Students become eligible for campus placement starting from 6th semester ,meanwhile u can also get paid internship from 5th semester itself .The companies which visited the campus most frequently are Cognizant ,TCS ,Infosys ,IBM ,PwC ,BMC ,Tavisca ,Wipro ,Amazon .Tavisca provided over 12 LPA while BMC provided over 14 LPA ,meanwhile in 2024 ,a new record of highest package emerged which is of 21 LPA.The Average package is 480,000 rupee CTC .Over 80 to 90% of students are placed and the college has a very good alumni network which provides u with referrals and possible jobs.I plan to join a IT company after getting my degree
