I chose this college because I couldn't get a seat in cse branch of any of the NITs so the only college which was best under BPUT and had a good placement ratio was silicon institute of technology. So I decided to join the college.
Course Curriculum Overview
Silicon gives first priority to the academics and then to the talent. So it is strict in curriculum. Specially as I belong to CSE branch my total course is consisting of c, java and they also provide internship opportunities at various companies and you get sponsored by iicell if you are best.
Internships Opportunities
Yes I had done the internship through the college in Syllogistek Systems Private Limited company for the Python programming course. There was no stipend for that but toppers of the course were given cashback rewards.
Placement Experience
Mostly the tech giants like TCS, WIPRO and INFOSYS hire a big bunch of students almost 50-60% get hired by them as they are mass recruiters. Other companies who have visited are like CTC and other companies come here. Entrepreneur cell works hard organising the workshop inviting industry experts for the talk show. Placement takes place first by the coding round and then by the interview round.
College Events
College hosts techfest and cultural fest simultaneously every year. A lot of participants come here from different colleges and compete. Day time it's the tech fest and the events hosted are like pubg, csgo, Roadies, IPL auction, treasure hunt, drone fight and robotics etc. At the night time it's the cultural fest and the branch dance comes into the limelight.
Fees and Financial Aid
I applied for the TFW scheme in ojee website and got the seat during counselling that reduced my academic fees from 137000 to 59000 Rs but these type of seats are limited and you have to score a good rank. Apart from that college also provides sponsorship for your project and rewards to the toppers.
Campus Life
College also looks after the sports facilities they are more tilted towards basketball and football specially. There are practice nets present with mats for cricket clubs. Volleyball court is also present along with 2 basketball grounds. Lab accessories are very well maintained specially in computer branches. Wifi is also available specially in the Skylab which is the lifeline of the college.library consists of the treasure of books with 2 large reading rooms.
