Student's Review On Symbiosis School Of Economics - [SSE], Pune

It's very good for economics since it provides honours with the degree, and does its own research within the college in various aspects of economics. They not only promote research, but encourage extracurriculars just as much as academics. I opted for this course due to the level of expertise the course structure would provide me with in Economics.

The faculty is great and very encouraging with the course structure. Since I am in FY, they are also specially helping out the students who are from a science background and have never done Economics before.

I have interned for Spark Career Mentors, to organise a national entrepreneurship competition called Teen Turks. It was an unpaid internship, in order to get it I had to do a few assignments allotted by the program manager.

Placements and job opportunities are great especially in the fields of Analytics, Market Research, Financial Analysis, Journalism, Academic Institutions and Banking/Finance. There is also a placement cell which provides you with aptitude tests, mock interviews and group discussions, grooming and etiquette, speaking skills and body language, current affairs on business and economy etc. MSc students have interned in Jindal Steel, Financial Technologies, IBM, RangSutra, Panasonic etc.

Since I am a first year student and am still studying through online classes, I haven't been to the campus yet. But, from associating with seniors and faculty members, SSE holds it own fest every year, and participates in multiple dance, football, parliamentary debate competitions. There's extracurricular clubs within the college as well which include a writing club, debate club, dance club, Samarpan (socially useful productive work), etc.

Infrastructure facilities provides a hostel accomodation (merit based selection), large library (available online as well), WiFi, Aerobics, Auditorium, Gym, Healthcare, Yoga as well as a Swimming Pool

The hostel is a triple sharing hostel, which is only provided to the student on a merit basis. Hostel seats are less. The total fee is 1, 59, 300 rupees. It has WiFi facilities, along with the bathroom inside the room. Good hygiene.
