College of Engineering Guindy was one of the most reputed and top most college in Tamil Nadu State.Being passionate about maths and science in my school days,a seat in this college became a benchmark to be achieved.Choosing Materials Science was mainly because of the interest in Nanotechnology which was introduced in our 12th standard and the curriculum was more practical based knowledge which inspired me to opt the course.

Curriculum wise Anna University regulations are updated and made to match industry based needs.many of our students opt for further research and go to PhD or crack GATE and enter PSUs.Academically the university is one of the top notch colleges which has earned its name.Every semester has a perfect balance of theory and practical classes.Faculties are encouraging and support us if we work honestly and sincerely in the projects.Lots of research papers are being published by our college professors every year.

I interned in University of Hyderabad under Prof.Ghanshyam Shankar. I was a research intern under him and worked under his projects.

As Engineering graduates , we are eligible to apply for MNCs as well as core companies.every department has placement representatives who meet various industries and invite them for placements. CEG alumnis are spread all over the world and has a very strong network and help students pursue masters in US and Canada. some of the noted alumnis are Ragav-Indian Police Service,Prem kumar- Indian Forest Service.

Campus Life has good scope for academics and can enhance academic knowledge by using libraries and computer centres.Our college conducts a technical symposium 'Kurukshetra' which is a international level techno management fest and has also received UNESCO patronage.Campus conducts an 4 day intra college cultural fest AGNI among the college students for exposing their extra curricular activities.

Infrastructure facilities are top notch which includes almost everything an engineering student needs. LIBRARY- 5 story building with engineering books across all disciplines and has general knowledge, humanities books as well.Sports- Anna University has a very famous cricket team and football team.It has a dedicated sports board and conducts inter state sports fest every year.Campus fully is wifi enabled with WiFi hubs all round the campusLaboratories are well equipped and maintained by knowledgeable staffs.
