Course Curriculum Overview
Bachelors in Business management is a very interesting course. It has a great scope. You can go to any field for masters. Also, the faculty to student ratio is good. We have 2 teachers for 60 students. The faculty members are well trained and immensely educated. They choose a teaching method which is easily understood by the students. The mid semester exam are taken which are quite simple but at the same time they assess your understanding of the subjects. In Chitkara, they don't just make your understand the theoretical aspect of the subjects but all help you learn the practicality.
Internships Opportunities
There are a plethora of internship opportunities available for the students. I haven't really heard of an on campus internship but a lot of off campus internships are available to the students. All the students are required to do an internship in the summer break before the last year of their course. They say that internships provide you with the expertise and experience which proves to be very beneficial while getting placed in future.
Placement Experience
From the 4th semester, the students become eligible for the placement. The students are trained for the interview and written part of the placement process but it depends upon the students that how well they perform in the interview. A Lot of renowned companies are called to the campus to interview the students and they get an average package of 3 to 3.5 lacs for the entry level jobs. Deloitte, Kotak Mahindra , Tommy Hilfiger etc. Hire people from the campus. Approximately, 80% of the students get placed from the campus depending upon their capability and efforts.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees is quite high in my opinion. You have to pay 70k for one semester including 10k CAS. Scholarships are provided to the meritorious students on the basis of merit. But even when the fees is quite high, the good placements make it worth it. They assure guaranteed placements if the student scores above 7 sgpa. Students can get good internships from the campus whilst continuing their course. So, overall you can say that the placements are quite good and the package that they provide is quite decent for an undergraduate.
Campus Life
If you want to enjoy the college life, then this is the best place to take admission. The campus is superb. It is so enormous and has all the facilities available in the premises. The canteen is also nice. You can get a variety of cuisines in the campus. It has subway, ccd etc. They arrange fests every year in which they invite famous singers or actors. The fest usually lasts upto 3 days. Even the labs and classrooms are technical, the campus is very neat and tidy, there are uscious green gardens. The library is packed with books but at the same time there is a nice reading room where you can study as and when you want to. There is a hospital in the campus. There is no dearth of sports and extracurricular activities. There are a plethora of social groups, clubs which the students can join according to their will, nobody forces them to take part in any activities or join any committee or community.
Interview Experience
The process of admission is quite simple. There is no entrance tests for the undergraduate. Yes they do take an interview which is a quite simple one. They just ask your to introduce yourself and then they ask you that why do you want to choose this course. There are group discussions in the class which they say are conducted so that the students learn how GDs are held in the interview. In a way they are preparing us for the interviews. You don't really have to prepare for the interview as the questions are quite the basic ones.
