The course curriculum is according to biotechnology syllabus. The syllabus is according to CSIR-NET syllabus. The course include theoritical classes in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Cell and molecular Biology, Recombinant DNA technology, Genetic engineering, Microbial proteomics and genomics, Plant and animal Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, bio-statistics and bioprocess tehtchnology.
Internships Opportunities
There are no company placement. But most of the government organisations like NII, JNU, BHU, IARI, ICAR, CSIR absorbs students from the university in projects and Ph.D and stipend varies from 12000-30000.
Placement Experience
The job opportunities are limited. Most of the students qualify CSIR net and avail fellowship for pursuing Ph.D. There is no placement provided by university. Students manage on their own. But most of the research institute easily recruit students from the university because of its name.
College Events
The college focuses on all round development based on concept of panchmukhi sikhsha. There re annual events like foundation day, Technical fest like Janus, national youth festival, and international conferences.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes, College offers many scholarship. And department of biotechnology is supported by department of biotechnology, government of India . Top 25 students get this fellowship.
Campus Life
It was all girls college. Campus life was good but one limitation was that exposure to outer world is very limited. As many types of restrictions on students are there and no television or thing like common room for entertainment is available.
Alumni/Alumna
There is alumni network but i don't think it is very effective. You don't have much communications with alumni. Limited interactions with seniors as hostels are separate and no meetings are organised.
Exam Structure
The exam and labs are hectic. You get little time to chill in an academic year as every semester is divided into quiz, class test, sessionals, mid sem and final semesters. The practical exams are conducted at end of the sessions.
