Remarks

I wanted to study in Baselius college mainly because of the college's fame. I also wanted to join NSS and MGOCSM. The college is nearer to my village, Kollad, and hence travelling is easy. I love the teachers of my department. National Service Scheme provided me with the best platform to improve my talents. MGOCSM also helped in this. I was interested in English language and literature and I think the decision to join this college was one of the best decisions i took regarding my education.

Course Curriculum Overview

The syllabus was updated last year. It is very comprehensive. There are nearly 10 electives from which 4 can be chosen. This is good, but students are not free to choose them. Rather each college chooses the electives. Faculty members of the college are very supportive, brilliant and highly qualified. They are friendly too.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placement cell functions in the college. No companies visit our department. Companies often visit Commerce and Management departments. Some students have been placed.

College Events

4.5

Each department of the college has its own Association inauguration, annual fest and all. All departments conduct them in glamour. There are also evebts like annual sports day, with sports competitions, Union day, Arts competitions, college day, Patron Saint's day, etc. Organizations like National Service Scheme, Red Ribbon Club, National Cadet Corps, MGOCSM, etc. conduct different programmes.

Fees and Financial Aid

I had availed KPCR which allowed me to have a considerable fee concession. I belong to General category and has an annual income of less than 1 lakh per annum. I was able to get fee concession during the UG course also. I was also awarded with VK Philip Educational Endowment.

Campus Life

Sports facilities are fine. The general library is not large enough and does not contain many of the books that we have in the syllabus. Library working time should be extended. Wi-Fi facility is not strong enough.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is excellent because it contains so many informative ideas and the practical lab is the best. I chose this course to get an idea about the civil engineering field and i m satisfied with it. The faculty members are very supportive and helpful. The student ratio is very low. Faculties at our college are MTech holders and PHD also. There will be two series exams and one university exam in each semester and there are eight semesters in Btech.

Placement Experience:

From the 6th semester students become eligible for campus placements. So many companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Gst Global, etc. are visited for placements. These companies provide placement for all the branches of the college. 90 percent of the students get placements. I prefer to go for higher studies after getting the degree.
