Remarks

i heard about its book festival , since i am a reader i was intrigued by the thought of it. i knew that this college is holding its expertise in my field so, i cleared the entrance, secured a decent percentage and rank to get through it.

Course Curriculum Overview

the course is as vast as its name.It was a two year masters degree. The course was divided into four semesters. In the third semester we had various filed visits - visit to the various APMCs (Agriculture Produce and Marketing Committee), Various Processed food manufacturing centers. Final semester we had to prepare a dissertation of our choice. My Dissertation was on GROWING / CULTIVATION TIGER PRAWNS ON LAND - its pros and cons.

Placement Experience

3.5

there was no placement cell in the first place, but it needs one for sure. There wasn't any sort of internship opportunities too in my department. But the course was all about processed foods ,we did have opportunities in this field, but we had to hunt that for ourselves.

College Events

3.5

We had a lot of cultural festivals organised in the department. Firstly we had a Miss and Mr IDS competition. I had won the Miss IDS title in the first year. Then we had a Annual get together. it was really fun to explore and relish the experiences.

Campus Life

the infrastructure is decent, the playground and food court is pretty nice. i am a north-Indian and the college is in south, so i was usually eating south Indian food, obviously not by choice.i also had a language barrier because most of them spoke Kannada.

Hostel Facilities

i got an accommodation in the PG for girls. they were clean and hygienic, it had its own dispensary.we had time curfews, as i was a girl & our house warden was pretty strict too. the food at the mess was bearable.

Admission

Mysore University entrance exams, 124 rank

Placement Experience:

Students become elegible for placements from 7th sem onwards but we are encouraged to do internship before final itself. Most of the companies that come here aren't t1 or even t2. Highest probably would be 12L only if the student is exceptional but most would secure a package 4-6. And the percentage of students getting placed is <50%
