Remarks

I was doing a job in Mysore only. Thus I wanted to do my PhD from same place only so that I didn't need to give up my job for doing my PhD. Also few friends of mine were already product of this esteemed college

Course Curriculum Overview

Environmental studies were entirely based on nature. I studied various types of resources we have in the nature, threats on them, whether they're renewable energy or non renewal energy, everything was dealt. Dr. M. Meera was my favourite teacher in my department

Placement Experience

4.5

As I was already doing a job in a environment based NGO, I didn't looked up for job opportunities given by the college. Thus I don't have much knowledge about it. But according to my little knowledge, job offers were not very much. As EVS again comes with restricted offers.

College Events

4.5

For PhD students, there were not much programs held. Just two of it was something which are remembered by each of us and that is my Fresher's party and farewell party. Other programs were also good, but I never got that much time to enjoy it with my busy schedule.

Campus Life

Ph.D is completely a research based degree. I invested my 80% of time in library researching on various topics and subtopics. Library books and journals provided me a great help with their diverse nature(genre)

Hostel Facilities

Hostel capacity was very rich. But it was slightly expensive. As i was already living in a PG, I didn't paid much attention to it. But I heard from my friends that food from hostel was delicious and very nutritious.

Admission

After completing my M.Sc, I simply applied in this college and got my admission done as there were no admission test or interview taken from me

The college sponsors cultural and technical events like the annual fest and the tech fest. Usually, the events are conducted between February and April. The college library has a good number of textbooks and references. Students can easily access the textbooks and references. The college classrooms are well furnished with projectors and internet connectivity. Sports and cultural events are conducted within the college campus. Student forums emphasize the importance of teamwork and leadership skills.

Course Curriculum Overview:

It played an important role in my choice of this course. It provides a good foundation in core subjects and practical learning. Practical experience in the lab and through projects helps in grasping the applicability of theoretical concepts in actual life. It has a well-structured syllabus and promotes step-by-step knowledge. Moreover, the curriculum will help students in their higher studies as well as in practical applications by enhancing their ability to analyze problems. Examinations: It consists of internal tests and end-sem tests. Exams are conducted regularly; they are of moderate levels of toughness; with proper preparation, they can be cleared easily.

From 7th semester students become eligible for campus placements There are many top companies such as texas instrument(last visit in 2023), sony , toshiba , mercedes benz(only girls), and many good startups and top mnc come but reality is they offer jobs but for just few handfull of people most end up in mass recriuters. The placement from my senior batch of ECE has got package upto 24-26lpa but average is around 7-8lpa

Our placements start right in the final year as when you look at the comparison a lot of our students gets placed through PPO. Cyber Physical Students are already less and so pushing the speed is what MIT Manipal does in the final year as placements are always our college's first priority.

Students will be eligible for internships from the fourth sem of their course. There are many big companies who have visited the campus and made really good offers but if you want a good package the level of difficulty to get into this will also be high. The average package for BCA is 3,00,000 per annum. As per University information their placement rate is 91 percent. After getting the degree I'll be looking for a good company to work for and gain my knowledge.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements towards the final semester of their course. Currently, I have only been using the help of my faculty for internship opportunities, since I am not looking for placements. But they have connections with big names in the communication sector, and they often have personalities coming in to give talks and interact with the students. A great number of students opt for placements and approximately 90% of them do end up getting posted at really good companies. Others choose to continue with higher education. My plan after receiving my degree would be to take up a diploma in literature in the UK, while simultaneously finding myself a position at a good publishing house there.

Placement Experience:

From my seniors, I hear that 20/30 % of students from our college get placed. But now being in my final sem I know the reality. For covid and lockdown, the placement sector has been badly hit. Only a handful of companies came this year (5/6 companies). 4/5 people from our batch are placed but no placement for the big chunk of people. From 5th sem students become eligible for placements but in 5th sem, no company came to our college for placement this year. Only in the 6th sem, the placement cell started. Companies that visited till now ( some of them came to take interns and didn't offer full-time jobs) 1) Clevertize, 2) Social Panga, 3) Robert Bosch GmbH, 4) Saatchi & Saatchi, 5) Publicis, 6)PR Pundit, 7) McKinsey, 8) Edsol Edtech, 9) Momo Media, 10) MSL, 11) Genesis BC, Offers: 1.5-3 LPA (average). I plan to send CVs personally to companies through LINKEDIN and other job search platforms because the college hasn't provided us with good placement offers as claimed.
