Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum The course was designed as per the latest changes. It focused on the History and Basics of Psychology, the development of the individual. We were also taught an overview of Statistics and diverse areas like Abnormal Psychology, Behavior in Organizations, Counseling Psychology, Health Psychology and Social Psychology thus providing an exposure to the different areas of Psychology. There were practical sessions too which were held. There were regular problem solving test which tested our problem solving skills. The creative and logical skills was tested through the Visual memory test and design thinking test. The course followed a Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) which enabled us to choose the subjects from the list of electives which were offered by the other departments. Like we can study economics or history paper as well during our first two years. This provided us the basics of the other disciplines as well.
Placement Experience
Placement Many of the students opted to pursue maters in clinical Psychology. Those who wanted to enter into the job market were placed from the campus. There were think tanks who came for recruiting us. The internships was an integral part of our course. The placement committee helped us in finding the companies with whom we can intern with. I worked as intern in two different social organization during my first year. This enabled to practically apply my classroom teaching.
College Events
The clubs are divided into three main domains in the college- literary Club, Fine Arts Club, Environment and sustainability club. These clubs are run by students which provide us the platform to showcase our talent. They provide us the exposure, experience and hand on experience required for real world challenges. There are annual events that are celebrated in my college. Some of them include World Wildlife Day (3 March), World Poetry Day (21 March), MSME Day (27 June), International Literacy Day (8 September) and India Study Visits (November/April).
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure After my admission, I signed KCLAS code of conduct and anti-ragging affidavit. The original documents were submitted with the college. The annual fee was INR 1 Lakhs. This included the tuition fees, sports and amenities fee, professional development fee, examination fee and miscellaneous fee. All the fees were paid online through net banking.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarships There are scholarships roved when we enter the college or during the course of our study. There is Merit Scholarship, Sports Scholarship, Military Grant, MG Award and Sakthi Grant. These are provided to those who excel in their academics, perform their best in different sports and are unable to pay their tuition fees due to their weak financial status.
Campus Life
Campus life Spread over 150 acres, it is a magnificent lush green campus. There were various sports events held on the 23 acres sports field like football match, basketball match, volleyball match, cricket match, tennis match and handball match. There are four seminar halls named after the legends of India, Dr. Vikram Sarabai Sir. C.V Raman, Sir. Vishvesvaraya and Swami Vivekananda, each with a 250 seating capacity. The seminars organized by various departments take place in these halls. There is a well-equipped international gym for both girls and boys spread in an area of 2400 sq.ft with the latest equipment. There is retail shopping arcade in the campus called Kmart offering a wide range of consumer goods like clothing, appliances, books, stationary, electronics etc. There is an eight bedded clinic with four doctors and assistants. The library had 178 print journals, 9122 online international journals and 48 magazines for scholarly communication. It also provides access to printing and e-resources.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel There are six blocks for male residents and three blocks for female residents. The rooms are allocated to us on a triple sharing basis. I share my room with two students from economics and history. I spend my most of the time with them when I don?t have my classes. They have become a family to me now. We have attached dining area, washrooms, lobby, terrace, etc. the facility center are established that provide a roof for a TV hall, access to Wi-Fi, recreation room, and cafe that enables us to experience a home away from home. They offer safe, secure, comfortable, accessible and healthy housing for us. We also celebrate very festival with joy and happiness in the hostel.
Admission
Admission I opted to pursue Bachelor in Psychology after completing my 12th grade. I filed the online application form. The minimum requirement was 50% aggregate in 12th grade. In the next step I submitted the documents and appeared in the test at the campus which tested my creativity, comprehensive knowledge and critical thinking test followed by personal interview. After the interview, the cumulative list came in 2 days and my name appeared in the first list. I paid the fees online to confirm my submission.
Faculty
Faculty There were well qualified faculty members. All were Assistant Professors. One of them was the counselor who took counseling sessions of us once in a week. She listened to our problem and life story and gave us the tips to improve our life and how we can work to make our life better. She was very much supportive who helped us not only in our academics but also in our life.

Internships is an integral part of the B.Sc Psychology program of Kumaraguru College of Liberal Arts and Science. Students are also offered paid internships.
