Remarks

The college is new so we were the first batch so we got a lot of attention and Ramesh sir himself used to be present during our lectures. There were masterclasses by people in the industry and we often visited places pertaining to film knowledge and the industry, like celebrity interviews, film festivals, etc. I got in through an interview and the reason I chose this college was because it is located within the city and was close to my home. The institute was new and seemed promising. If you want a college within the city, which is located in a huge university, and has great shooting locations and people, you should go for it. There are great field visits and summer internships too.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose this particular course because I wanted an insight into everything filmmaking. The stuff that goes on in the industry, on sets, and on camera. I'm personally into acting, but I am grateful that this course gave me much to go on with. And I understand a great deal about filmmaking that will help me in the years ahead. Subjects and all changed with every semester, and we had a different teacher for each one, they were experts who have worked in the field and have plenty of experience. The teachers are rarely strict firstly because this an artistic field, and freedom of thinking is the first thing that'll bring progress, and secondly because the entire process is fun. The exams are extremely easy, firstly because the course is not one that depends on theory, and exams are only 25 marks, while the other 75 come from practicals and films.

Internships Opportunities

4

We were given opportunities under Ramesh Sippy Productions, under Rohan Sippy's direction, Aruna Raje's direction. Students have worked independently taking up projects using the knowledge they gained here, and also as freelancers.

Placement Experience

4

Student start doing internships in the summer and winter vacations, and the faculty are people working the industry too, so they may invite some students over for work too. Otherwise post placement the college promises placement, but that's subject to availability of work. Till now we're the first batch so we haven't graduated yet so no final placements have been made, but alot of us have worked with Ramesh Sippy Productions and others as interns. Some have even worked independently as freelancers in their freetime

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees is high, 1500000 for 3 years is quite heavy. But I feel it is worth because the industry we're entering pays handsomely and the knowledge gained here is going to help immensely. We were given opportunities to work with Rohan Sippy, Aruna Raje and Ramesh Sippy films, among many others during the summer vacations. Those internships did not pay but you can make contacts and definitely get work later on.

Campus Life

4

There's an annual ceremony where new students are welcomed. I myself have hosted on of those and it was a great experience. There's dance and music, along with interaction between the faculty, students and parents. Classrooms are air-conditioned and have computers/projectors and surround sound audio system for film viewing. There's a huge film cds library that you can pick up and watch movies from. There's a couple of college meme pages and confession pages but they didn't last long, but yeah. There's great friendship and communication.

Interview Experience

5

There was an interview taken by Ramesh Sippy Sir and a few other faculty members. These included faculty of the VFX and animation departments, and the camera and production department. The idea was to find for you what course would be best for you and make you feel at home. This is very easy and actually did the opposite of what I thought, it made things easier for me as I grew a bit friendly with the people there.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is neither difficult nor easy. It is a good curriculum for even an average student. The teacher mostly used the traditional teaching method. It needs to be improved. The exam's difficulty level is not so high again good for average students

The curriculum of the subjects are Pretty relevant to real-world for example i have economics and psychology as one of my subjects and in economics for 2nd year we are learning public finances and indian economy i would say it is pretty useful. As for psychology the practicals and theory is useful is you are considering a career in psychology.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculam is designed for all round development of the student and to make that person an expert in that field, these aspects influeneced me to choose it. Very well, with extra paper of real world application on each subject it ensures that we take something from the course and become industry ready The teachings methods and cirriculam are excellent I don't think any changes are required Exams are all year round, every month and are extremly difficult to deal with, as Xavier's bar is very high.
