Remarks

The university session was very good. Most of the popular universities were taking their admission form submissions and SKMU had their regular classes started. Admission process was easy. I just had to fill the form and the Proctor of the university helped me to complete my process within a day. Late admissions were also allowed. This university is in my hometown and it was way ahead in the session. Classes are regular. But some professors find it hard to manage their office work and lectures. It lacks a bit in punctuality. Classes start late sometimes and because of it the leave timings get affected. The location of the university is on the outskirts of the town, which is problematic for the poor students. But the road is never on high traffic. Expenses are very low and the atmosphere is calm. Faculty is very supportive. But the number of faculty members is less. Some professors lack thr ability to skillfully interact with students, but overall the professors are highly intellectual.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

This paper is my subject of interest and so I wished to continue with the same. Since I graduated with English as my main paper I decided to have a master's degree in it. The number of faculty members is less. As the university asks us to have a good attendance record, the number of students have reduced. The second semester had 39 students which has dropped from 60 students in the first semester. Currently there are 5 professors in the English PG department. The number of permanently recruited professors is low. But they are highly qualified holding a P.hd in English. The rest are professors who teach on contract basis. They teach as long as they wish. The contract based professors are NET qualified. Except a few the professors have a brilliant teaching method. Efforts are seen from their side. The session was in a brilliant pace until the coronavirus pandemic brought everything to a halt. The score is given on the basis of internal exams, attendance, assignments and university exams

Placement Experience

2.5

No campus placement is offered in this university. The students get a better understanding in their subject. The university gives a master's degree which is a requirement for appearing in NET and applying for various jobs.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees is very low as it is a government university. I belonging to the ST category had to pay 491 rupees as my admission fees. My general category friends had to pay admission fees less than a 1000 rupees. Scholarship is given to students belonging to the economically weaker section and the reserved categories. One has to submit application online for receiving stipend on the bank account. Cost of study is very less. Their is no campus placement.

Campus Life

3

The university conducts youth festival annually in which any student can participate and show his or her talent. Various kind of seminars and meetings take place in the campus. Every important event is celebrated and students are encouraged to participate in it. There are adequate number of books in the library which are very helpful. Not all the lecture halls have smart class facility. But if necessary the students shift to the needed lecture hall. No sport activity is encouraged in the campus. However other activities like dancing, singing, writing, etc are encouraged in the celebrated events of the college. There are no social groups, clubs or websites for students run by students.

• I have done BA in psychology that's why I always wanted continue my further studies in the same field that's I choose this course . • The curriculum prepares you for real world applications but it depends on the person how they understanding the whole course and practically implementing the teachings in the real world. • I think the area for improvement in the course curriculum and teaching methods is teachers should provide group discussion and apply games which help the to try their practical knowledge. • In the whole year only two exams are taken by University and these are internal and external exam and the level is very easy means we can easily prepare for it in weeks .

Course Curriculum Overview:

Whatever that is prescribed in our syllabus, I believe is very relevant with what we need to learn. If somebody gets on the teaching line, these topics are very important for them to have a basic knowledge of that particular subject. The teachers don't actively focus on completing the syllabus, which in turn becomes a burden for the students. They need to be serious because its a matter of a childs life. The final examination has a duration of three hours and the class test has a duration of sixty minutes. The question aren't that difficulty. One who has paid attention to the lectures will for sure pass in the examination. But someone who does not know anything about the topic will mostly like to fail.
