Course Curriculum Overview :
The course deals with the study of plants, fungi, algae and their reproduction, anatomy and physiology.It includes the different types of approaches to scientific discoveries and revolves around many practical experiences to get a hold of all theoretical concepts related to botany culture. The course have a a vast combination of studies from the cell structure to the studying and working metabolism of plants and fungi on relatively higher level including their revolutions.The program is divided into six semesters spanning over a period of three years.
Placement Experience :
The employment roles which were offered to students from my batch were quality assurance analyst, medical coder, administrative assistant, senior research associate etc.The companies which recruited these candidates were Quality control corp, IBM, Genpact, Accenture, Wipro, Infotech, Groth coroporation etc. The average salary offered was 7 lpa.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fees for one year is 22,500. The total for three years is 67,500 which I think is quite affordable and feasible. This fees structure does not include the hostel & mess fees.They need to paid with the one time security fees at the start of the foundation course.
Campus Life :
Freshers day, Farewell of seniors and events such as baking competition, singing, dancing, drama, sculpturing, clay modelling, wax making statues etc are conducted by the college councils to provide a platform to students for showcasing their talent other than academics. Inter sports tournament are held and wrestling matches are also conducted so that the students can win medals in their respective sports.
Admission :
You need to have passed class 12th from recognized board with biology as the main subject. The students should have a studied English as a compulsory subject.Those students who have passed HSE from Kerala State Board are also eligible to apply. The admission is done on the basis of merit. You can apply for the course online and upload all your relevant documents. A merit list s .be prepared on the basis of your marks. After that you will be called for a counselling session and granted admission.
Faculty :
The teachers explain the concepts of the plant metabolism in a very practical way. The teaching method of every faculty member is quite different. They provide us a helping hand in our hours of distress. The average age group of the teachers are from 45 to 55 years. They have a wide range of knowledge related to the plant structures and their functional activities.Overall I would say that the teachers of Vimala college are friendly and supportive.
