Experience of college life

I lived here for 5 and half years of my medical college life ...Ranked 28th Medical College in Top Medical Colleges of India in year 2014 .... Ragging free Campus , Wednesday on Cycle Day , Good Quality College , Hostel Canteens and Mess , attached with around 250-300 bedded Hospital with Good Clinical Exposure ....equipped with high class Hyperbaric oxygen Therapy Machine ~ 7th installment in India in year 2015... , Upcoming Cancer Care and Super specialty Hospital Block ....., We had best Ophthalmology , Pediatrics , Surgery Department all over Gujarat in year 2015-16 .... Best Clinicians and Surgeons were making the education up to the mark .... Lot of Case frequency is attended here ... draining almost upto Ahmedabad in North and Amreli , Junagadh , Botad District in West of Bhavnagar.... Daily OPDs were around 600-700 in Medicine , 350-400 in surgery , 200-350 in Ortho , around 400 in Obs and Gynec and 100-200 in departments like psychiatry, respiratory medicine, ENT, ophtha.

Enough faculty students ratio and good amount of tutorials were attended by expert PG faculties ... I choose this course because my personal pediatrician was too caring towards me in childhood days and I would like to be like him one day so I choose this course ... All faculties have minimum qualifications of M.B;B.S. or PG in respective Subject ...mostly regular lectures in lecture theatre was done including dentistry for MBBS Students.... Supported by Clinical terms and Tutorials sometimes on real cases like in our Ophthal department we had Pulsating Proptosis case one day so resident described us whole pathology and we saw the sign of the disease ....so ultimately good practicals.... Exams were termly at 6 months and Clinical term had exams too after completion of each term in respective departments term ending exam was taken as per MCI guidelines and terms were designed in such a fashion to fulfill the requirements of MCI Code of Conduct.

Best in class Internships Opportunity with vast Clinical Experience .... All departments allow you to touch patients and guide you along with the diagnosis and treatment part .... sometimes they give independent opportunity to diagnose or treat patients which is good for better practical exposure .... Community Medicine department encourages a KAP study or other Comparison studies which include good Epidemiological and Biostatistics exposure to real life Physiology department encourages ICMR Student Research Projects guided by Faculties and having Students as Principle Investigator .... We also have Plathysmography , Sleep Studies lab , many newer treatment modalities are being tried associated with Hyperbaric oxygen Therapy for better healing and recovery ... recently Prospective study including Breast Cancer patients for Hyperbaric oxygen Therapy along with chemotherapy was done , research on hair Transplant also done , ophtha dept has Alcon instillator and all is up to the mark ...

At my study time it was 6000 per year now a days it's 25,000 per year but its way too less than private ones.... Similarly in PG it have 90000 per year course fee I think it's reasonable... Scholarships for students from Quota was offered and Alumni association of College also helps students having financial challenge students for that kindly contact Alumni Association of GMC Bhavnagar.

Best Campus life and good surrounding environment .... Our batch was just a golden batch _ Batch 2013 of GMC Bhavnagar ....we used to volunteer in lot of things ...in our first year we had Eye and Organ Donation Camp in which we helped people to know more about Organ Donation and Body Donation and it's benefits to society .... Then many of us attended camps in Tribal areas sponsored by National Medicos Organisation our group was lead by legendary Dr.C.B.Tripathi sir.... we also helped in Medical Camps Flood affected areas of Banaskantha District in year 2017 ...our physio department was one of the best in country we won national quiz once and one time runner up in Physiology.... Pharmac Department encouraged us to meet another college's students and organised seminars and symposium at other colleges of Gujarat so as to increase in knowledge of student vice a versa college.....!!! It was such a great time....

Initially we were 3-4 person in one room but that rooms were large and spacious than we had 2 person in one room policy at hostels and life was so amazing in those hostel days ..... Up to the mark Meal Quality ...North Indians may face "Sweet Daal" change but it would be accommodated afterwards.... !!! Simple registration process along with all Medical College registration they will register you up at college only then you have to visit hostel warden or incharge for accommodation..
