I wrote TANCET and scored 36 and took psgcas(psg college of arts and science)through counselling. A course introduction was given followed by a general interview.

Curriculum was well balanced in each semester we had 2 programming lab papers 2 software oriented and 2 hardware oriented papers with an addition of maths, accounts, statistics, operations research(any of 1) other than that any one of the recent technologies can be taken as electives during my course we had taken electives like cloud computing as that was upcoming by then. We did two minor projects and 1 minor project.

IBM, Bosch, cognizant, wipro, thought works, google, payoda would be some of the major companies who came in for providing internship now i guess there will be more on this list. The stipend would start somewhere from 5000 to 15000 when i was there in the course. Some of them were on apprenticeship but they made big later.

When it comes to placements i would proudly say PSGCAS ranks best among the arts and science colleges in coimbatore. I got placed in cognizant after MCA and the package was lucrative with 3.5l per annum plus incentives.

There are scholarship provided by the alumnis of the college for which the students should pass through an interview and education loans were availed by students from major banks.

Campus life was so good in psgcas with more of extra curricular activities, extra classes. There will be some event happening almost everyday in the campus, making the experience more lively and entertaining.

Exams there will be 2 internals followed by a revision and then the semester. 50% lab session and 50% theory session in a day order. I would not say it was hectic or chilled out it will lay somewhere balanced in the middle.
