Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is interesting I should say. We are exposed to a variety of subjects in the very beginning and it helps us to gain knowledge and understand what we are really interested in. Exam pattern consists of semester, mid semester and lab exams.
Placement Experience
Internship opportunities are available for 3rd and 4th year students. Placement cell specializes in conducting mock interviews, exams etc to hone the skills of the students and making them more confident. Banks and IT companies visit the campus during placements.
College Events
Mobile development, microcontroller based autonomous robots workshop are held and many students from outside also participate. There are symposiums for different branches and Z fest is the national level technical fest that is held in our college.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure is quite feasible for me. I have to pay around 2 lakhs for 4 years and it's almost the same for all the branches. So 50,000 per year is the annual fee excluding hostel fee for which we have to pay separately.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are no tie ups with banks as far as I know but there are scholarships based on category and fees vary from category to category. Toppers are also awarded with reduction in fees from different departments.
Campus Life
There is a separate committee set up against sexual harassment, ragging which clearly takes care of any kind of misbehavior of students. SC/ST committee also works towards the upliftment of the classes and is strictly against discrimination.
Hostel Facilities
We have one boys and one girls hostel. 24 —7 medical facilities are available with gym, internet and sports facilities. Rooms are well furnished and kept properly by the staff but we have water problems here.
Alumni/Alumna
One of my neighbours who got admission here told me about GCES. So I opted for it and I don't regret it at all. Alumni network is good and it is vital to keep in touch with them as they can help us make a lot of choices. Senior students are also immensely helpful.
Admission
I secured admission in the college through TNEA. It is basically a counselling that allots us a rank and we can apply for different colleges through it. I was very interested in programming and I took up CSE.
Faculty
They are really good. I would personally tell that some of them are the only reason why I started liking some subjects in the first place. They help us out in all possible ways and are very approachable.
