Remarks

There are many good aspects of my college as of the perfect environment for proper education in engineering and other courses, student-friendly classes, the main attraction over my college is the constructions of blocks in a circular shape, entertaining cultural programmes, etc. Few bad aspects may be mostly concern over the fee payments and huge amount of money often collected as fine etc., The admission for this college happens generally around August of every year for new batches, for me, the process took over once I opted this college (Saveetha Engineering College, Thandalam, Chennai) for the 4 years course in B.E.Mechanical Engineering in TNEA 2017 Engineering Counselling on 05 Aug 2017 with a cut-off mark of 143.50 under Government quota, was the reason for opting this college over others.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose this course as Mechanical Engineering plays a key role in every aspect of various fields inclusively. The faculty-student ratio is 1:13 and the sharing of knowledge is much effective. Staff with 9 years of average experience, 150 Ph.Ds and 205 pursuing Ph.Ds. The term exams are around 6 months once for odd terms and 4 months for even terms with continuous internal assessments every month and are easy to pass on preparing effectively.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

The companies like Delphi TVS, Hyundai, etc, offer internships with a stipend. But I have done the off-campus internship in Integral Coach Factory during Summer 2019. There have been projects under the internship providers and the clarifications are done regularly.

Placement Experience

3.5

From the mid of 3rd year, that is from the 6th semester onwards students become eligible for campus placements and internships too. 250 MNCs from sectors visited our campus for placements. The leading recruiters are Capgemini, Wipro, Accenture, IBM, Infosys, TATA consultancies, etc. 96% of 2020 passed out batch students are already placed in various companies. My plan for getting the degree with GPA above 8.4 with distinction with practical knowledge in the year 2021.

Fees and Financial Aid

The cost of the study is Rs. 85000 per year for Government quota students and Rs.120000 per year for Management quota students. Additionally, the transport fees per year for day scholars are around Rs.30000 to 40000 with AC Buses and few non AC Buses, for hostelers the hostel fees per year is around Rs. 60000 with food. Rs. 1 crore worth scholarship for meritorious students and students excelling in sports every year and government scholarships provided are under SC/STs, MBCs, and OBCs with low annual incomes are provided, etc.

Campus Life

4

The annual fest/culture is conducted every year during January month along with Saveetha Pongal celebrations which are much grand and famous. There is a surplus amount of books of technical as well as general books/ weekly journals, etc. are available with free WiFi internet library too. Smartboard in all classrooms, 300Mbps high-speed internet-enabled WiFi campus, advanced machining centers, AC rooms, and labs, etc. Sports and extracurricular activities are given special attention every year. A social group for students is NSS and clubs like Young India are effectively organized for student's responsibilities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The specific aspect which is great future on IT Field of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the course. The curriculum prepared me to solve tough real-world logical aptitude test and coding test. The course curriculum is only based on the theory in several areas. My suggestion is to improve that too in practical manner for better real-world understanding. The frequency and the timing of my exams along with my perspective on the difficulty level is 2hrs.
