College experience journey

Good - Building and infrastructure was good. Labs were good as well. Hostels we're good as well. Well maintained campus. Bad - There was no campus placements done. There was no LAN in the hostels. Hostel fees was too high. Focus on the training and placement activity was negligible. Appeared in UPSEAT entrance exam and based on the rank secured for general category filled the choices available. Wanted to enroll in computer science and engineering and among the other options I filled got this college. Once the seat was confirmed and college name was given through online counselling went onto to get admitted with cheque, marksheets, birth certificate and other relevant documents.

Computer science and engineering gave opportunity to appear for most IT jobs. Since the campus placements for other branches are not so good. Opting for computer science seemed a safe bet. Faculty to student ration would be around 1:10. Some faculties we're quite knowledgeable and employed interesting teaching methodologies but some others were very boring. Exams happened in a timely fashion. Internals we're conducted in the college itself and were graded by our teachers whereas the semester exams happened in an external college and we're graded by teachers in university. Internals we're relatively simpler. Whatever was taught in class was asked but external semester end exams were unpredictable.

Students become eligible for campus placement from 6th semester but there were no campus placements during our year. We were eligible to appear for various off-campus placements happening throughout the city or across the country. Highest pay package may have been 4 lakhs pa. and lowest pay package was around 1 lakh pa. A lot of students got placed an year after passing out. Plans were to join the company from where job offer was received and then pursue MBA.

Cost to study was pretty high If only the course fees was to be considered. It was still relatively okay but the fees kept on increasing year on year. On campus housing fees was exorbirantly high. Most of the students opted to stay out of hostel in private lodges in affordable prices. No scholarship, no financial assistance and no job through college. Procured job through off-campus placements.

Annual fest and tech fest happened in the month of Dec-Jan. The library was not that well stocked. Classrooms we're very basic. There was a basketball court, tennis court and a swanky stadium on campus.
