My college review

Srm is a good college as it allows a child to explore talent, and interact with all types of students from different places.

The course curriculum is good but feels tough for plenty of students due to more syllabus. Exams conducted are more than enough like 3 FA tests are conducted which in turn helps to cover a large portion of semester and then final semester exam and also assignments and projects are given according to subject demand.

The placement scenario of my college is in a good position as compared to the other colleges. The college invites any number of companies. For computer science and software branches, a maximum number of companies were there. For mechanical and other branches, around 40% of the number of software companies were called. So obviously the placement percentage for cs, software branches holds the highest as compared to others. college take placement preparation classes and sessions for students, mock interviews. IT companies like TCS, Infosys, soori, Cognizant, Microsoft, Etc. Mechanical companies like bajaj auto, Daimler, nilkamal, Bridgestone Etc. Visited the college in 2018-2019 placements.

AARUSH, MILAN are the two big fests conducted along with the small other fests like shuru, SRMMUN, etc. AARUSH is the techno-management cultural festival conducted in srm in the month of September every year. It's around 4 to 5 days fest. Milan is an entertainment, cultural fest which invites celebrities and dancers.

SRM being private is a bit expensive but has almost or fewer fees than VIT, Manipal, etc. Presently, Yearly expenses in the colleges reach up to 5lakhs which includes (3. 5-4)lakhs of college and (1-1. 5)lakhs of hostel+mess fees. As usual, management quota seats hold a high amount of fees which is in every college. In 2015, my tuition fees or college fees were 2. 15 lakhs for 1 year.

I didn't get any scholarships. Yes, the college provides scholarships to the students who perform very well like getting more than 9 cgpa.

SRM campus is well maintained and beautiful and around 300 acres campus which makes the student be in the campus the whole time and enjoy all facilities like sports etc. All types of labs like robotics, machine shop, fluid lab, SOM lab, thermal lab, etc. The gender ratio is almost 1:1.

I stayed in srm hostels for all 4 years. Hostels provide sharing rooms. I recommend living the hostel life which ensures somewhat safety for us and a stresses reliever for parents too. Mess food was fine but you will get used too.

The seniors in my college were nice to me. Helped in giving guidance and managing exams and projects well. NO ragging is allowed in SRM and also an anti-ragging committee is formed in the college.

I gave the college entrance exam called SRMJEE on 26th April 2015, Then the results get announced within 2 weeks after the exam, and then students are called for counseling according to the ranks. Around 18 May I went for counseling and you will get options of choosing a branch according to the SRMJEE rank. In July 2nd week, I started going to classes.

The lecturers in my college were good. Honestly, all faculties were not the same type. Some were very strict and boring too. Some were interesting, also taught very well. Faculties were qualified enough and experienced. Some were having an industrial experience too.
