Remarks

I find the college is best. I would rate it 5 star without any hesitation. In Pune city it's a hidden Gem college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Bachelor of Art's is 3yr course in which you get exposure to every main Humanitarian Subjects. We have Annual pattern. For 1st yr students, the exam is solely conducted by institution. While for 2nd and 3rd yr it's University who conduct the exam. During the course we get chance to learn many non academic curricular things. The college provides a great exposure to various things. Many students at UG level present their Research papers at various National and State level conferences. Students are given chance to work with various NGO's. They are given practical learning through different study tours. Some job oriented extra curricular courses are also provided by college. Overall the atmosphere is not only study driven but there is lot of space for professional and personality development of student through different activities.

Placement Experience

3.5

As per as my course is concerned no plcement opportunity is provided. But yes there are many good internships opportunity provided to students. Like for psychology, each and every student get opportunity of internships, in various domains like clinical psychology, counselling etc. For Sociology students, in various NGO's, research work etc. As per as other courses are concerned like BSC, MSC, BBA Placement is provided to a small extent. Students get package upto 2-3 lakh. But very few student get the placement. As per as engineering is concerned, it has huge placement but it is not available in our campus. Engineering course is available in other campus of Modern College.

College Events

4

There are many events celebrated in the college. The main event of whole college is Vividha, in which students perform their creative Art's, like dance, drama, songs etc. Also in this, students given opportunity to install their stalls in the college and sell their products. Other major event is Yuva Saptah, which is organised on the occasion of Swami Vivekanand Jayanti, in which many constructive activities happen like Essay-Poster-Debate competition etc. Aparat form this there are much more, throughout the year never ending Department wise activities. For example, Sociology department organises a Tribal Artifact Sale, and the all the collected money goes to poor people. Likewise every department has their various activities. Also national and international level seminar are arranged in the college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

As per as Bachelor of Arts is concerned, the fee is very minimal for average middle class people. The fee for open class students is around 10k. We can pay fee by offline as well as online mode. No other charges are collected. Only at the end, university exam fee is payable.

Fees and Financial Aid

College doesn't provide any scholarship on its own as such. But benefit of various government scheme and scholarships can be availed easily. College office staff is very coperative and help you in best possible way. There is earn and learn scheme for students who are in need of money. They are provided with basic work like, book arrangements in library etc.

Campus Life

3.5

Campus is full of diversity. There are people from various state of India. There are also International students. Overall atmosphere of the college is very enthusiastic. As I mentioned earlier, many events happens in the college. Also there are very talented students, soo it is always interesting and tough competition in every activity. Sport department is very good. College students have presence in every major sports events happening at state and national level.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

No I have not opted for Hostel. But my friend narrate their experiences of the college hostel that I can share. The college hostel is not that much good. It just an flat apartment. you have to arrange your food on your own. And also it is very far from the college. So there is a problem of transportation.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumini network is very strong. They have registered association called Modernite. They help students in every possible way. They fund and organise many events in the college. Also in need, they provide assistance to students. For example, during covid 19 situation they made arrangements for students like for food, for going them to their home etc.

Admission

As I wanted to go for the Civil Services Examination, I chose to opt for Bachelor of Art's course, as I find it most relevant for the UPSC preparation. Secondly, Modern college is among top 3 colleges in Pune. I filled admission form for all top colleges in Pune, and eventually got Admission in Modern College, as there was direct admission on the basis of 12th class percentage, there was no any other criteria. Admission procedure was very simple, if you have more than 70 percentage then you will get direct admission, the mode of admission was Online. And it was very convenient. Literally you will get done admission in 2-3 hrs. And if you have percentage less than 70, then you have to wait for some days, if some seats remain after filling of 70%+ students, then they will give you chance on the basis of merit. Overall the admission process is very easy, convinient.

Faculty

4.5

The College has well qualified and experienced faculty as well as some new enthusiastic young blood faculties. More than a lecturer they seems to be a friend of students. They teach in soo much friendly manner that it make much effective way of learning for students. We can easily seek help from them anytime, even after college hrs, not only study related but they also help in general. Many of them are associatied with National and international organisation and also helding a post in these organisation. Many of them are in research field. Some have represented India at International Platforms. We have to attend about 6 lectures per day in the college. In which we not get only booky knowledge but also the exposure to practical world.

The curriculum is neither difficult nor easy. It is a good curriculum for even an average student. The teacher mostly used the traditional teaching method. It needs to be improved. The exam's difficulty level is not so high again good for average students

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculam is designed for all round development of the student and to make that person an expert in that field, these aspects influeneced me to choose it. Very well, with extra paper of real world application on each subject it ensures that we take something from the course and become industry ready The teachings methods and cirriculam are excellent I don't think any changes are required Exams are all year round, every month and are extremly difficult to deal with, as Xavier's bar is very high.
