Remarks
RJ Tibrewal is an A accredited college from Gujarat University, so definitely it is one of the best college in terms of teaching (professor's qualifications), participation in extra curriculum activities and minimal fees, as they get government grants.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is standard, as prepared by Gujarat University. However, methods used to teach those subjects were quite practical and professors shared more knowledge rather than simply reading from the book. There were not many opportunities for on campus placement for students having professional degree. But, knowledge imparted in college was definitely useful in off college placements.
Placement Experience
The placements are not that great. There were none to negligible internships offered officially, only people used to have notices for vacancy of intern / Paid employee on notice board.
College Events
Annual Magazine AKS, I was chief editor. Various cultural events, traditional day, professional day, Navratri celebration. I participated in MONETA 2k15 held in Mumbai and represented my college. And won prize too. I participated in spellbug in Intellectus event organized by Ahmedabad University and represented my college.
Fee Structure And Facilities
I completed my whole BCom in less than 3000, including deposits. As this is a government granted college fees are really low, especially for girls. It is less than 3000 for girls, cumulative fees for 3 years. And less than 5000 for boys, cumulative fees for 3 years.
Fees and Financial Aid
I did not avail any scholarship from the college. I have never inquired if they provided scholarships, so can't say.
Campus Life
As it regularly receives grant from Gujarat University and Gujarat Government, they have to mandatorily maintain certain benchmarks by participating in various inter state, intra state college events and have to present a good front on the academic side too. Gender ratio is 45:55 (girls : boys).
Hostel Facilities
No, there is no hostel facility in the college. As my College was in my hometown, I never needed to inquire hostel fees in nearby non affiliated hostels in my college's vicinity. College premises only consists of college building, library and event space.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes, alumni network is definitely helpful for referring to better jobs for interview. And whilst one is in college senior students help juniors and getting accustomed, organising events and all.
Admission
I got admission on basis of merit, I secured 86% in 12th standard, cut off for admission was 80% at my time. As it is registered with Gujarat University. Admission process is pretty transparent, online as per the Gujarat University norms. I chose it as it was A accredited, had lower fees (government grant) and had good reputation.
Faculty
We used to have daily 4 lectures, professors held professional qualification in their required subject, all were highly experienced. Only few of them were aged less than 30. Majority were in their early forties. No one was above 55-60. They provided sufficient clarity in their given subject.
