My College Review

They take way too many students just to fill their seats. The number of seats is never fixed they extend it as per the applicants request and if they agree to oay donations.

The curriculum is good. As for a private institute it does take necessary steps so as to improve the the quality of education imparted to the students. The industrial visit as far as I remember, they don't organise them for the engineering students, but I don't know about other fields.

The companies that use to come to our college for placements are Amazon, Microsoft, Infosys, TCS, etc. The students are trained accordingly for the placement procedure. The percentage of students placed is approximately above 90%. The recruitment process involves an aptitude test followed by the Interview stage.

Technical Fest - Aarush : It is one if the worst technical fest that I have seen till now for any engineering college. Cultural Fest - Milan : This fest consists mainly of only localites and the SRM students itself. It is in top 10 college fests in terms of footfall but it mostly consist of only SRM students and the localites.

My program fee is 250000 per annum. But for others it is like donation and it is I guess 350000 per annum. The mode of payment accepted is only through online mode either through card or netbanking. No additional fees is required to take admission fees. Only registration fees and a little of first installment of the fees is required to pay to take admission. The college kind of not provides transparency in the fee-breakdown. They charge everyone of breakage fees but when asked the faculties don't know what they are for.

Yes the college provides scholarship on the basis of various criteria. They provide scholarship on the basis of rank secured in the entrance exam. They also give scholarship on the basis of marks scored in class 12th.

The gender ratio as for other institutions is much better and it is quite diverse too. Extracurricular activities are good but there are way too many students in the college that it makes it difficult to for anything. The college way too much crowded.

The quality standards are good as for hostels. The average fees is about 110000. Hostel seats are limited. They kind of force the students to pay for the mess. But honestly the students from North don't really like the food prepared in the mess. So we don't want to take mess. But they don't allow us to do so.

College seniors usually don't interact with their juniors unless the juniors themselves want to talk to them.

I wanted to do enginnering. I was unable to crack the JEE exam and thus ended up taking admission into SRM. I was not in the favour of taking drop and moreover I was afraid that it could not be helpful. I was kind of in a confused state when I failed to crack JEE. The only option was for me to get admission in a private institute. I was to fed up studying the JEE course for about 2 years, I wanted to get out from that. I just wanted to get free from that. I never imagined that I would study in a private institute but things don't always happen in our favour I guess.

The lecturers are quite good. Mostly the lecturers are good and are well-qualified for teaching but some are just like teaching just for money and they don't make efforts for teaching. But most teachers are good and have even published various research papers too.
