Remarks

It was a great experience to study in this college of national and international repute.Faculty was good.Student teacher ratio was excellent and teaching was world class

Course Curriculum Overview

5

During the MBBS I have to complete sudies divided in three prof.First prof had non-clinical subjects like antomy, physiology, biochemistry and biophysics(new subject added to course).Second prof had para clinical subjects like pathology, pharmacology, forensic medicine, statics.Third prof had clinical subjects like medicine, surgery, gynecology, pediatrics, eye and ent. Each prof was of one and half year duration and minimum passing marks were 50%.The course schedule was so complete along with practical training that knowledge imparted made me a successful medical professional.MD course included research thesis submission, which made me research oriented

Placement Experience

5

Internship was mandatory for every MBBS to be registered with medical council.Internship was done in the Hospital(700 beded) attached to the institute. After completing MBBS and internship, students were free to either enter in job/practice or go for hogher studies like MD.There was no placement cell as such and no company/organisation was visiting the institute, but all my batchmates were well placed either in government job or in privte practice. Some of my batch mates went abroad and established there carreer there, others joined the Institute as faculty

College Events

5

There used to be annual day of the Institute in which there used to be multiple cultural and scientific events. Also as the institute was in the BHU campus, there was participation of us in various curricular and extra curricular activities of the university.

Fee Structure And Facilities

There was academic fee per professional from the university which was very economical that is Rs.60/ per professional.Hostel stay was free, however personal expanses, which included daily expanses and mess expanses were not included in this.During MD course i was employed as resident and earning instead of paying.

Fees and Financial Aid

I didnot opted for any educational loan as the charged and fee is so low, i did not feel the need for any loan and could sustain myself

Campus Life

5

BHU,being an interational university,it was having very good campus life.Every hostel was having its playground for outdoor games like football, hockey, cricket. There used to be annual sports, giving opportunity for students to participitate in sports. Also there used to be annual days of different Institutes and faculty, which had cultural and scientfic activities like exhibitions, debates etc. These used to be very good and open to public, whereby public used to get a glimpse of the activities of various faculty

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Yes,I opted to stay in the hostel.Initially we were living in the sharing room and later on in third year we got single occupancy room. There was no shortage of hostel accomodation.Rooms were comfrtable with sharing toilets, which were also reasonably clean and well maintained.Faculty members were used to be wardens of the hostel, which was helpful in maintaining discipline

Alumni/Alumna

we have a closely knit alumini network. Our seniors were very helpful in our professional as well as other activities.I found my seniors to be standing by myside in time of need.We have annual reunion both batchwise as well as all ex students of IMS BHU

Admission

after completing my B.Sc,I appeared in the competitive examination of BHU,which is supposed to be one of the most tough as there were only fifty seats and the competition was all over india.I also appeared for AMU,aligarh medical enterance also.I received my first call from AMU,where I was holding third rank all over india.I joined the college, but within few days i received the call from BHU as well, which was a proud offer to me.I left the AMU and joined the BHU.I had to appear for interview also, which i cleared easily.Ever since there is no looking back.I did my MBBS and MD from the same institute and now a successful Consultant Physician

Faculty

5

Faculty of my institue was world class and student teacher ratio was very good. There were around eihgt to ten professors and associate professors in each department and ten to fifteen lecturers in each department, which made the student teacher ration more than one faculty per student. Most of the faculty members were highely qualified with post graduate and Doctoral qualification and were having international exposure. The MBBS of the institute was recognised by general medical council of UK.

The curriculum prepares us for the real time management of the patient illness. If we talk about the difficulty of the curriculum, so yes it is difficult but just it needs consistency and nothing. It prepares us for dealing with the real world by understanding the patients.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The profession I'm in is medical. The toughest of all. As from the starting I wished to be a doctor. The one who is second to a God. The one who is respected the most. The one who does the most prestigious job. As per the curriculum we have to study all 19 subjects in just 4.5 years plus we have to attend the clinical posting in hospital , which exposes us to real world. The posting time is the time given to students from second year till year last. Improvement can be done in passing the exam part which is 50% in each subject. It can be 40 % marks. Currently I've given my MBBS second year which was hectic because of the vast syllabus. We have total of 5.5 year course for an undergraduate degree. Out of which 4.5 years is about studies rest one year is internship in hospital. We have to study all 19 subjects in just 4.5 years. The mbbs course is very lengthy. Each and every subject is very vast. So we have to study maximum time. So all the very best those who aspire to be a great doctor
