Remarks

The faculty in the college was one of the best among all colleges of the University, specially in the Science stream. In Mathmetics and Chemistry the famous personalities like Dr.M.Ray and Dr. S.N.Srivastava headed the faculties. In the matter of internal discipline the college was definitely not among the best.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The faculty of Economics was one of the best in the nearby universities/colleges.The H.O.D. Dr.M L Seth was a brilliant teacher and author of his hot cake book "Principles of Economics". Course curriculum was as suggested by the University and implementation was best among all colleges. The examination system was fair but nothing innovative.

Placement Experience

0.5

The college or university had no system of campus placement. Not availed any internship. Here I would like to add that the system of placements was not present in those days in such colleges.

College Events

2.5

I participated in the sports events which were held regularly during the session.I played Badminton and Chess in indoor games.College though, celebrated cultural and social events too.The participation in one of the social/semi military activity such as NCC or NSS was compulsory.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee Structure was very reasonable and facilities of need based scholarships were also available to the students.Being a government aided institution, profitability was not the motive for the college hence the fee Structure was kept at very affordable level.

Fees and Financial Aid

Not opted but being a Government aided college, a number of scholarships were available for poor students and also for the students from the minorities.

Campus Life

4.5

The post graduate courses in the college had Co-Education system and the gender ratio used to be 70-30 (approx) in favour of males. The students from all religions and castes were there in the class and I never experienced any gender or race issue. The shortage of colleges in the area attracted more students from down town

Hostel Facilities

2.5

No I did not opt for the Hostel but the college had several hostels attached to the college campus with a separate girls hostel too. The hostel Life, though I did not experience, used to be very enjoyable as told by our friends.

Alumni/Alumna

I did not get any chance to interact with the alumni during my entire course.I understand that the alumni meet or the Senior, junior meet was not a regular event in the college.

Admission

I did graduation in Science from the same college but due to some technical reasons could not get admission in M.Sc.(Chemistry), the subject of my choice. Hence opted for Arts and got admission in M.A.Economics. Admission in Arts was relatively easier in this coolege and with good track record and performance in the Interview, got admission in M.A. comfortably.

Faculty

3.5

Head of the Department Dr.M L Seth was indeed a great teacher and author of text books The other faculty was average and teaching procedures are normal and routine type. There was no evidence that the faculty had any industrial exposure. In the final year we had to face shortage of classes too.

Placement Experience:

The placement here at Sharda was too good. Students start attending the Placement interviews and calls from the last semester. I was personally made into 4 companies and 4 offer letters were offered to me. The average package is 3.8 lakhs per annum and highest was about 11 lakhs. There is 100% placement in every dept. but it depends on students if they want to attend or not. After getting the degree i studied for my PhD entrace and now i am working.

The admission is on the basis of graduation marks. The college allocates seats strictly on the basis of the academic record of the person. The college is closest to my home, that’s why I chose this college to be my first choice of graduation.

Remarks:

My college provide best education and hostel facility in india.Security is very good. Managment is very good.Transport facility inside the campus in now very good. Placements : The institute actually has very good placement records due to its outstanding alumni and also due to the presence of placement and training cell working day and night to indulge its students with skills and leadership. So, the placements in our college have never been a problem. Infrastructure : With almost hundred years on the calendar, our campus is luxurious from inside and filled with modern day necessities from inside. We have every resource that a student wants in his college life such as largely spaced room, Wi-Fi everywhere around the campus and many more things. So, the campus is unmatched. Faculty : The faculty members are nice, and I found them very helping and motivating. On the other hand, the course curriculum is a bit boring but essential too. A load of academics is very less compared to other IITs and hence students can do anything they want and could carry on their interest. I feel very proud to be a part of IIT BHU. Other : There are three main fests in our college, Kashiyatra, Technex and Spardha. All the fests are held at very high level. Participation from many IITs, NITs and other different colleges from many parts of India make our fests super big and exciting.
