Entrance Preview

The admission process for smt indira gandhi college of engineering is through CAP rounds. After H.S.C exam. I got 110 out of 200 in CAP and in 3rd round i got admission for instrumentation stream. There are total 5 streams electronics, electrical, instrumentation, electronics and telecommunication, mechanical.

Course Curriculum Overview

All engineering courses are 4 years. 1st year syllabus is common for all streams and after 1st year syllabus is vary from stream to streams. There are total 8 semesters from 1st year to final year. 2 semesters in one year.

Internships Opportunities

In general engineering colleges there is no internship and stipend offered. But campus selection is there in some colleges and for some stream. Stipend is offered in some courses like ITI courses.

Fees and Financial Aid

No, as such scholarship or loan facility is not available at college. You have to arrange your own and have to fill up fees. But college fee is very reasonable and good enough to pay easily.

Alumni/Alumna

Recently we have held 1 alumni function at our college for 2010, 2011, 2012 pas out batch and it was a great response for this function. That time it was a healthy discussion on upcoming opportunities and more streams and idea and all between all students and teachers.

Exam Structure

In all engineering collages, exam structure is same for mumbai university. There are total 8 semester exams for 4 years. And 2 test exams are there per single semester which are internal. Also practical exams and viva are held with semester exams.

Faculty

Faculty was good and they explains all queries properly. There are separates faculty for each subjects and practicals are separate. You have to sea with faculties and ask them queries and u will get satisfactory answers.

Placement Experience:

From 7th Sem, students are eligible for placements and undergo placement training. Many companies has visited so far but the big ones are Godrej, BEL, Framatome, etc. The highest package for mechanical was 7.5 LPA and the avg package was around 5 LPA with a majority of job roles as GET. Almost 95% students are placed. I'm preparing for GATE ME for higher studies

The moderate college of engineering in pune , with moderate fees and good environment.

Placement Experience:

the placement structure of this college is mainly on the tech branches. the placement varies betweem 3 to 5 lakhs on average, annually but if are choosing core branches like mechanical, civil or electrical or entc then you can expect low from it. College do offers insdustry obesrvation and siteseeing tours. These activities are for core branch students. the companies visited in college are TCS, WIPRO, INFOSYS, for IT sector and core branches companies like BOSCH, ULTRATECH CEMENT, TATA TECHNOLOGIES , do visit for campus recruitment. The highest package was placed by a student of 45 lakhs in 2022 and another student of 22 lakhs. the percentage of placement for 2024 batch was about 70% to 72% for overall placement record. after getting degree i will persue the job in pune and stay updated on ladakh civil job vacancies.

Placement Experience:

If one wants direct placements in comapnies such as Wipro, Cognizant, Hexaware, TCS and many more, SIT is the place. Highest is still unbeatable as one student in 2023 got a paycheck of 50 lakhs per annum from SIT. Even the average is over 10 lakhs now as most students are placed through SIT placements cell.

Very good Education at Very low fees.

I choose this college as it was offering my desired course at very reasonable fees also the faculties and education is very good here,it has a very small campus and playground as compared to few other colleges in navi mumbai but i would say that okay if you just want good education , also the main event of the college happens in cidco vashi.and the admission process is straight forward if you wanna take admission throught cap just have to apply online and confirm admission in college after approvel....Read More
