Remarks

SRM IST has its brand name. It has an excellent green lush campus with facilities of sports both indoor and outdoor like badminton, football, table tennis etc. It has excellent placements statistics with almost 100% placement. All these became the reason for me to opt for it

Course Curriculum Overview

The Course Curriculum was well updated and the softwares taught to us were new and the ones required in today's market like MatLab, Python, Catia etc. We were given an Industrial Visit to the nearby Nuclear Plant in Kalpakkam.

Internships Opportunities

I did a 21 days implant training at NTPC Kahalgaon, a power generation company located in Bihar.

Placement Experience

Placements are very good especially for IT/CSE departments. A lot of IT giants like Cisco, Infosys, SAPLABs, Wipro etc. visit the college. The mass recruiters visit offering an average package of 3.5 lacs, while Cisco offered 14 lacs to around 10 students. Placement process varies from company to company but generally includes an Aptitude test, followed by GD and lastly PI.

College Events

We used to have technical and cultural fests throughout the year but the major ones were two namely Aarush and Milan. Aarush usually took place in the month of October/November and Milan was generally in January/Fenruary. The participation were huge across all the colleges in South India.

Campus Life

SRM is known for its infrastructure. Hence it had all the required sports facilities for almost everyone. We had Indoor Badminton courts. Enormous grounds for Football, Cricket, Hockey. We even had courts for Ball Badminton, Basketball. And we had table tennis rooms in every hostel. Wifi speed across the campus was 1Gbps. Library was extremely huge and had books for every discipline. The labs had all the necessary equipment and even machines like CNC lathe, CNC turning were there for students.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel infrastructure was good. We had 3 sharing AC and Non AC rooms as per our choice. Single rooms were also available at a higher cost. We had non attached bathrooms and attached bathrooms at slightly higher cost.

Is VIT worth it

Placement Experience:

Placements in VIT UNIVERSITY is very good the average package is 8 lakhs and the Highest may go upto 1 crore every year.There is a separate placement cell in VIT chennai and they give you placement training from start of the third year. Many multinational companies like google, microsoft etc comes to VIT to pick students for their company. Almost 98 percent of the students gets places in VIT. After my degree I choose to sit for placements.

SRMIST is superb in all sense!!

I applied at PDEU, Gandhinagar and SRMIST and both colleges admissions were almost done but since my family is from Chennai, we al decided to stay close to home atleast for UG.
