Remarks

I feel over the past years, it has made a significant mark across all domains be it academics, research, placements etc. The college provides its students with all the facilities like sports courts, a very good library with a late night stay back option, good eataries and hostels.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is updated on a regular basis and the college does try to incorporate the latest in demand skills and topics. There are several courses which may seem futile but actually prove to helpful in the long run as well as during placements.

The placements are okay. There are a no. Of mass recruitment companies so almost everyone lands a job but the no. Of good job offers are less but not very less. One needs to be consistent with the academics and also gain new skills in order to land a good job offer.

College Events

Campus Life is very good. The college management conducts the cultural fest, Milan, which has a quite a big footfall with an impressive line up of guests. The Techno-Management fest, Aaruush, is conducted by the students and consists of some really good guest lectures, dicussions and pro shows. They attract a huge crowd with their exciting line up of guests as well.

Campus Life

Campus Infrastructure is good. All the basic facilities are available like sports courts which include basketball, Football and Cricket ground, indoor badminton hall. The library is really good with automated entry system and a good collection of books regarding all branches and also books for preparation of higher education exams. The labs are good but there is a scope of improvement too. Computer science labs can have machines with a better and updated interface and all the rest of the labs can be upgraded too.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel infrastructure is good. There are different air conditioned and non air conditioned rooms with different hostel fees. I live in the AC hostel. I feel for the fees, it not so good. The wifi facility sucks and also there is always some problem with Mobile network connectivity as well. Rooms are three sharing but after 2nd year you can opt for two sharing as well.

Is VIT worth it

Placement Experience:

Placements in VIT UNIVERSITY is very good the average package is 8 lakhs and the Highest may go upto 1 crore every year.There is a separate placement cell in VIT chennai and they give you placement training from start of the third year. Many multinational companies like google, microsoft etc comes to VIT to pick students for their company. Almost 98 percent of the students gets places in VIT. After my degree I choose to sit for placements.

SRMIST is superb in all sense!!

I applied at PDEU, Gandhinagar and SRMIST and both colleges admissions were almost done but since my family is from Chennai, we al decided to stay close to home atleast for UG.
