Student's Review On Sikkim Manipal University - [SMU], East Sikkim

Near to my hometown, reputed and recognised college. Things that I like about the college is it's facilities for students such as 24hour electricity and wifi in the hostel, hot water facility. Most important safe and strict rules for both girls and boys. Other facilities like swimming, tennis, basket ball, gym, etc are available for the students.

We did many industrial visit during our course. Most of the faculties were good and supportive,they listen to our problems and help us improve ourselves and also encourages us to actively participate in various activities like quizzes, presentation and in other various fields. Out of them Dipendra Sir from BCA and Ranjan Sir from Mechanical engineering.

I did my internship in Anandalok Multispecialty Hospital in Siliguri, West Bengal. I wasn't paid for the internship. I worked there on the HR department as my topic was related to HR. I was supervised under HR executive who taught me about the process followed in that hospital.

Companies that visited our department were ICICI securities, ICICI bank, BYJY's, Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein etc, mostly related to sales. BYJU's provided the highest salary with an annual salary of 1000000, which one of our senior got accepted.

Different department organizes different events and fests. The fests are organised throughout the year by the students. The grand fest that SMIT organize is KAALRAV every year around Feb or March for 3days where all the students from different departments come together and plan for it. Students from other colleges also attend this fest.

Personally I opted for Sikkim quota which is for the Sikkim citizenship holder. Due to this facility, we gets some relaxation on the fees and reserve seats in the universities linked with Sikkim government.

Our institute has the best infrastructure. Sports facilities like swimming pool, table tennis, basketball, volleyball ground, soccer, snooker, gym etc. 24/7 Wi-Fi enabled campus, well equipped labs and there is a central library in the campus for students.

Hostel rooms are well designed with 24/7 electricity, Wi-Fi enabled and hot water. One room for two students with attached bathroom. It is quite strict for girls as compared to boys hostel. Hostel floor in charge are caring and friendly people. They take care of all our problems related to the hostel. Cleaning facilities twice in a week.
