Remarks

The college provides a good alternative for a research-oriented post gradual study. The syllabus of the program is career-oriented. The college has a student friendly atmosphere. The college also has a good rank in NIRF.

The syllabus is career-oriented. Our professors are also very friendly and promote each and every learner. Weekly special lectures, symposiums and workshops are conducted. The department also promotes field visits.

College Events

The college holds intercollegiate fest called deep woods every year in a big budget. There are also interdepartmental fests. These fests use a lot of funds but the quality of the programs are often low.

The campus is situated in the outskirts of Chennai City and has a fresh nature-friendly environment of 385 acres. The Miller memorial library and the media study centre. The labs are fine. The college also has a special lounge building for female students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The courses and varied subject aspects are useful for different careers. It's a great opportunity ranging from history related career and even journalists, etc. The curriculum so far added even offers to choose another department not related with history in 2 semesters as elective subjects which gives the opportunity to learn and widen our scopes. Exam frequentcy is regular, mostly after completion of each unit which helps to go smoothly the taught and learned syllabus in a row.

It was a major drawback for the present students while they come out from the college and know about the real, outer world.

Remarks:

It would be more beneficial to students if the syllabus is effectively completed as it's the case in every other department, the College being autonomous they are still able to give results as the question papers often cover the little that is taught.
