Remarks

As you can see it's one of the best colleges in Odisha as people say. It's produced quite a no. of IAS and IPS officers in these years. But nowadays people are attracted to engineering and medical colleges. So the seats in these colleges are decreasing. Overall it's good for those who continuously seek to perform better and gain as much as they can. All of this depends on the students. Some department is very good and some are not. Diversity will be there. But this college will always remain one of the best. The examination system is nice in this college. Although some management issues are there they can be resurrected if govt tends to keep an eye on them.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I can't say about other departments. But the physics department in bjb college is quite good. There are 6 professors to associate with us. A fine lab and separate seminar library for physics. The gradation system is according to CBCS. It's a NAAC A graded college. The examination system is very good. They try to test the true potential of the student. The exam system is according to UGC.

Placement Experience

3.5

As we're basic science students, so we don't have any placements here. But there are some self financing courses that get placements every year. L&T company recruits students from our college. Mainly students go for higher studies rather than placement. some carrier counselling sessions occur periodically. But students go for internships to colleges like IIT, nit, iiser etc.

College Events

3.5

Our department conducts a physics exhibition each year. People come to our college for sharing their ideas with us. Many researchers attend some seminars. Annual function is held each year but due to some political issues, the last two years have been bad for cultural festivals in our college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It's a govt college. So one should expect the fees to be a bit lower. We pay like 2. 5k each year as our fees. Admission fees are 3k for basic sciences. But self-financing courses charge a bit higher. They take like 20k annually. Fees are paid online through sbi collect.

Fees and Financial Aid

I applied for inspire scholarship given by the department of science and technology of India. Also, I got it. Any student of basic science disciples can apply for this scholarship. It's for cse students to get as they have a lower cutoff for this scholarship. Also, there are many scholarships for reservation categories. Also, a scholarship from the national scholarship portal is given to students with credible performance.

Campus Life

4

The gender ratio is normal as in every college in Odisha. We go to workshops at different colleges. People attend the different competition in bigger institution and succeed also. The political situation is not quite good at this college. People do anything to win in student elections. The annual competition is done. Debating on different topics also occur in each department. In this college, you should try to build your own carrier by yourself.

Hostel Facilities

3

I'm not a hosteller. But I'd like to bring an insight towards the hostel situation in this college. There are a few seats available for the hostel facility. Many of them are for reserved categories. I can't say about the hostel much. But they don't charge higher for a hostel. Ladies hostel is good as far as I know. But anyone can predict the situation of the boy's hostel. So better stay in a private hostel if you're a boy.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are quite good. They give their best performance in IIT jam, jest etc. They're an inspiration for us. They tend to teach us how to be successful in life.

Admission

After completion of my 12th, I applied for BSc in physics in this college. After the merit list came, I was selected. So I went to the college for admission processes. The cutoff is a bit higher in this college than the other colleges in Odisha. Normal admission to process starts in June. Course commencement starts in July.

Faculty

4

There are 6 professors in the physics department. 3 associate and 3 assistant professors. The head of the department is a Delhi university alumni. The average age will be 40 of the professors. The professor of electronics is fabulous. His method of teaching is appreciated by pupils. Some teachers are not that student friendly but some are very nice to us. we get 4 lectures a day on physics. The assistant professors have pursued their M. sc from renowned colleges in Odisha. The senior faculties have expertise in their subjects. They tend to bring a deep insight into the subject rather than just giving boring lectures.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I've chosen this course because i love Zoology. The curriculum is strict and it also focus in the discipline of the students. The only problem is the class our overlaps with sports hour so if you want to practice your game you've to miss the last 2 classes. They all teach so professionally . Examination here are conducted so neatly and the time period is also okay.

Course Curriculum Overview:

those course curricullams at central university of odisha is thought fully designed ,offering a balanced blend of theoretical depth and practical relevance. on eof the key reason why students opt for such courses like int mathmatiss is the seamless academic progression and strong foundation it provides for research and comprdative exams. that curricullum could be more better as it can be more practical. what we are studing is like 80% theory and just 20% practical. so i do think that could be more better. the quality needs to be improved.

The exams are normal ...but the time given can change sometimes due to external factors that might shift the exam dates.
