KIST, Bubaneswar Review

This college still comes in top 10 colleges of Odisha. But if you want good academics and placement then try for other good college out there.

I took Odisha JEE and got a rank of 12, 432. Admission process was little complex. Received an intimation letter from BPUT. On a specified date went for counseling where I opted for KIST and Computer Science engineering and then after a week went to college to finish the rest of the formalities.

Computer science engineering consists of 48 subject spread over 8 semesters. 32 Subject in the first 4 semesters is common for all B. Tech. branches and rest subjects related to Computer science engineering.

There is no internship offered by the college, so no stipend. But if you are getting an internship outside, college allows the same. But I heard M.Tech. Students were offered internship by the college.

During my time, the recession period was at its peak so placement was not so good. The placement cell was low in strength, but did try to provide placement by solo as well as pulled campus. But only less than 10% of student were placed out of my batch.

Annual day is a must event of the college. Apart from that you can take part in other cultural activities organized third parties. Few technical seminars are hosted by each department, which some time represented by other college students too. College did organize Tech fest each year.

During my tenure, the fee was very cheap. Around 40, 000 for a year (I was admitted under government quota). Later the few was increased almost 2 times.

No. During my tenure the college did not provide any scholarship. Study loans can be avaliaed by any Bank.

Campus life was good though. We participated in a lot of inter college games. On a technical note, my friends did participate in a lot of tech festivals with in and outside college.

I did not stay at the hostel. But I know my friends did. College was running third party hostel in Bhubaneswar.

Alumni network don't exist at all and there is no effort by the college to establish the same. If you want to have contact, then you have to make a personal effort.

Exams are held as per the BPUT rules and regulation. So only internals were held by the college, which were so so.

Except few senior faculties rest of the faculty were in 3-5 year experience level, but they were quite helpful. Many good senior and good faculty left while I was in the college, as new college were established.
