Remarks
As far as the college environment and freedom is given to students is concerned it is quite a very good place. The exposure you get here is almost very few colleges you get in. The only negative aspect is the smoking culture of people.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is pretty structured. Every department has its own curriculum. Exams are a bit hectic as it is three-cycle tests. You feel like you attempt an exam every month. The semester exams are not properly organized.
Placement Experience
Placements were good this time. Many companies visited the campus and took bunches of people. Most of them got into mass recruitment like TCS, Infosys, CTS, Accenture, etc. I got placed in Reliance and the stipend was good.
College Events
There are a lot of events going on. To be specific there is an event or two almost every ten days. The major event being Aarush which is a technical fest happening in September and then there is Milan which is culture happening in March.
Fee Structure And Facilities
It is expensive but considering the fact that the exposure we get it is fine. The facilities that they provide are pretty good. But yeah there are a lot of expenses spent on xerox of lab manuals etc. But these expenses are worth it if you get placed.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college offers many kinds of scholarships. All the top rankers of srmjee exam get a fee waiver of 100,75 and 50 %. There is also a scholarship for sports students. Even the semester toppers get a scholarship.
Campus Life
There are a lot of activities going on somewhere or the other. There are many clubs that even participate in international events. The labs are pretty equipped with all the equipment. There are also national-level sports events organized on the campus.
Alumni/Alumna
SRM maintains a good relationship with the alumni. They keep a track of all the SRMites and even call them for seminars whenever necessary. They give us guidance on different aspects of how to mold ourselves for different aspects of employment.
Admission
Through the SRMJEE rank and counseling. It all depends on the rank that you get. There was a lot of demand for CSE back then. So typically to get a seat in CSE your rank should be less than 8k around. The remaining branches are not that tough to get into
Faculty
The faculty is pretty fine. Not all are as good as other faculty. Most of the faculty are from the local colleges. Comparing to VIT the faculty is not that qualified in SRM. But yeah as far as doubts are concerned they are pretty good at explaining.
