Remarks
College management was more into business than creating future for students.
Entrance Preview
Maharashtra state board HSC (12th). I had scored PCM 271/300 and an aggregate of 77.86% (including Bio and other language).
Course Curriculum Overview
I had P-Physics, C-Chemistry, B-Biology, M-Maths, English & Hindi. For getting in to engineering PCM % were the first to be considered. While PCM being same of 2 or more students aggregate of all subjects were considered for ranking.
Internships Opportunities
For stipend to be offered, there has to be an internship program. For the program to happen there has to be a quality class of students. For selecting the quality class there has to be an assigned officer/team who could lead the program.
Placement Experience
There was no placement officer and hence there were no job opportunities. There was a time where companies didn't come (I am not sure about today) to our campus. It was mostly off-campus drive that we used to attend.
College Events
Events were mostly organised by students. There were tech fest and cultural programs but most of them were within college. Although invitations were given to other colleges but no one did participate.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee-Structure again were as prescribed by Mumbai University. The management seats were comparable to other colleges and not too expensive for the students.
Fees and Financial Aid
None. Students who scored good grades usually got scholarship from TIFR or other related institutions.
Campus Life
As mentioned earlier, it was mostly organised by the students. Campus life was good. We found a good blend of friends. Interestingly (at-least during my college life) there was quite a unity across students of different streams (like comp-mech).
Hostel Facilities
Hostel was not at all required. But the Canteen food was pathetic. We could not take a chance of eating in canteen.
Alumni/Alumna
No effort from the college side to gather alumni who are success stories and help the current batch of students pave their way. Also, help them understand what to do and more importantly what Not to do in life from alumnus experience.
Exam Structure
It was strictly following the Mumbai University curriculum and dates. Engineering in itself is a challenge. Our college was no different.
Faculty
Was really not upto the mark. But was helpful wherever possible to give the students the liberty to study on their own. They could barely speak in english. The college was being run by trust and truste had much say in the overall running of the college.
