Happy days in college

The college management is not sufficient enough. The students and alumni play a crucial role in placement and also it restricts students freedom hampering their potentials to some extent. There are relatively less companies as the repo of college is concerned.

I took CGPET and got 549 rank in the exam. BIT being the best college of the region in terms of faculties placement and every other aspect i chose for it. All the top rankers of this exam go for bit and it's seats get occupied very soon.

The curriculum was good. We started at 8:30 and stopped at 2:30. The course duration was 4 years and subjects in first year were common to all branches. 2nd year onwards the subjects were specific to branches. Apart from acaedamics we also had lot of extra curricular activities.

The internship was generally taken by students on their own. College used to organize internship for bhilai steel plant and rest all used to arrange for themselves by applying at various places. All these internships were free.

There are good job oppurtinities in the college, best oppurtinities in the state. A lot of companies came to college and also there were many open campus placements. Companies arrived TCS,IGATE,SAPLABS,LNT,VEDANTA,indian army,indian navy approximately 400 of 540 were placed in my batch and 500 of 540 were placed in my senior batch of which 350 were in TCS in my batch there were around 60 students in each company.

There are lot of events regularly consducted. Previously each branch conducted its own fest inviting all colleges in the state. Later on the fests were substituted with a mega techfest called as ojas. The fest has all kinds of technical cultural and sports events also the college conducts interbranch sports and various other competitions. The annual fest ojas has more than 5000 participants from the state. Participations often have to be cancelled due to laws which do not allow more than 5000 people at the place.

The college had a nominal fee of 47000 a year and other exam fee of 1000 per sem. There are no other charges involved the new fee has however soared to around 60000 a year.

The college offers free seat to 5 students in each branch based on rank in the entrance exam. Toppers in branch are rewarded with scholarship and free library access and trainings and other acaedamic cooperations.

The best part of our college is campus life. There is one or other activity every day baring the exam season. Fests are organised by each branch and also there are college level fests. Interbranch competitions and intercollege university competitions. All of them are followed by parties. These competitions were on sports debates paper presentations singing dancing skits and ever other thing on the planet you can think of as far as the tolerance politics and gender biasing is concerned there os nothing as such at least in our college.

The hostel is in the campus itself and it has been renovated recently. All the rooms are sufficiently equipped.the problem in hostel is water coolers which may seem to be far from some rooms. The mess food is also pathetic,despite the mess being in college students 90 percent go out for food daily. Thos says enough about the mess in hostel mess. Outside college the pgs nearby are cheap and food is also available in plenty of messes average cost for avcomodation and food used to be 3000 during my time. Being a small city and college being in centre the cost of living used to be around 4500.

The alumnis have a good network and they come to college for various seminars on training and placements and various other things.college has also organised alumni meets and get togethers.seniors are also very cooperating.

The mid sem exams are conducted twice a semester followed by the final sem exams. Final sem are conducted by university and the centrw of exams are different colleges. The final sem evaluation is done online by scanning the answer sheets in case there's any discrepancy in marks obtained one can get a scanned or printed copy of answer sheet for re valuation.

The faculty of college was good. It was a mix of highly experienced and fresh college pass outs. The faculty was good and it had to be good as our college took regular feedback regarding faculties and used to change them on poor feedbacks.
