Best days of my life in Bharati Vidyapeeth

Overall it is a good college both academically & for having fun.

Admission to this college was based on the HSC examination conducted by the State board of education Maharashtra.

It followed the Engineering curriculum laid out by the University of Pune.Some of the key subjects were, Theory of machines, Fluid mechanics, Engineering Mathematics etc. There was a project at the end of the 8th Semester.

There was no internship in this college.It was not mandatory as per University rules. However there was a Project to be done in the last semester. So you could do it in any company. There was no stipend though.

Placements were limited. Most of the companies like L&T, TCS etc came for students of Computer science stream. For other streams like Mechanical engineering, we did not have any companies comming for placements.

Bharati vidyapeeth was a hot spot for cultural & extracurricular activities.The annual function held in the college was grand. There were always new & innovative programs being presented. Apart from that students were very active in the inter college festivals like Verve and bagged many awards.

Fee structure was as per government norms. At that time I used to pay around Rs 11000 per year as fees. It may have changed now.There was also an option of paid seats that had a fee of Rs 40000.

There was no scholarship as per my knowledge. As mentioned earlier, there was a free seat though which had less annual fees.

Campus life was a blast. It is a huge campus with many colleges such as engineering, Medical,Dental etc. So we had a huge crowd of students. There were many hang-outs nearby. We often interacted with people from other colleges and had fun.

Hostel was only limited to 1st Year students. All other students had to look for accommodation outside of college. But there are many PGs & other options available very near to college.

The alumni network is not very strong. I have never been contacted by the college or any aluminium network of the college, ever.It may have improved now. But we had a very good informal network of friends & Colleagues.

We had labs for most of the subjects. We used to have them 2 hours every week. They were fun. But you also got to learn a lot.

Most of the faculty was great, barring a few exceptions.Most of the faculty had well over 15 years of teaching experience. Some of them had authored books/papers in the field. The faculty took classroom learning seriously and had a very strict antecedence policy.
