Remarks
I have spent four precious years of my life in the university. I would like to state that if a student wants overall development then SRM is a place to be. But if we consider only education quality as a point of rating then I would rate it 7 out of 10.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum in the university is in accordance with the latest requirement. IT has a fully flexible credit system by which one can choose the subject which he wants to study in the given semester. the student has the right to opt for the teacher too. There are a total of 3 exams per semester per subject.
Placement Experience
About 500 companies came for hiring. The highest package was 40 lakh which was offered by Microsoft and PayPal. the university does not disclose the average package but according to me, it would have been around 4 LPA.
College Events
There are two main college fests. one culture that is Milan which happens in March every year and one technical --AARUUSH which takes place in the month of September every year. the events are enjoyable to a great extent but the rush is too high and the level of crowd management is not up to the mark.
Fee Structure And Facilities
2 LPA tuition fees and 1 LPA hostel fee for students who take admission based on merit. There is a management quota too for which the college charge twice as much as quoted above, which is not worth spending.
Fees and Financial Aid
SBI Provides loans at a decent interest rate. there are multiple benefits of choosing SBI as the branch sets a desk on the campus during counseling for the loan offer. Punjab National Bank also has a tie-up.
Campus Life
The university is full of opportunities. If one wants to learn any sport, take part in a dramatic club, is an automobile enthusiast, loves exploring new things then SRM is a place to be. They have world-class infrastructure and high technology laboratories that are open for students.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni are helpful to a great extent. The college has an internship fair almost every quarter which is taken care of by the alumni association of the university ie the Directorate of alumni affairs. I also got an opportunity to intern with a startup run by SRM alumni.
Admission
I appeared in SRMJEEE, got a decent rank, opted for mechanical engineering on the main campus of the University. Once the result for the entrance exam is out, they release the date and venue for the counseling process.
Faculty
I won't say the faculty is great and knows everything about the subject. But they have the knowledge required just to ensure we get the things in the curriculum. If a student brings out of syllabus doubt then it becomes difficult for faculty to address it.
