Remarks
The college doesn't concentrate on studies for its students. It motivates and helps students achieve their passion even if it's our of our domain. Thought they won't be a part of engineering, sure they'll be in their dream area with passion.
Course Curriculum Overview
Well, to be frank the course and exams are just to make us cover the syllabus and replicate it to get the grades. Understanding the concept is very important to apply the part in day to day profession. The course syllabus, exam structure are all just a start to our career. The whole thing in Engineering solely depends on only understanding the concept.
Placement Experience
It's also a part of curriculum and during third year of my course I've visited Kirloskar Energy solutions, Revathy Equipments in the final year. Through on and off campus drives, college places almost all of its students in placement drives. During the first year 89% of the students were placed and only the students with most backlogs were not placed. Placement classes starts from the second year of the studies and it mainly focuses of aptitude, attitude and adaptability to the working conditions other than technical side. Nearly 40 to 60 companies have been for recruitment to our college through on and off campus drives yearly.
College Events
Technical symposium, Paper presentations, Technical Quiz and other project display are all been conducted on technical side both inter and intra college tournaments have also been conducted on it. On the side of sports, our college conducts yearly cricket tournament for the PIE Tech Trophy among the Polytechnic college in the whole state. Other than this Culturals, Sports day, Hostel day are all the events conducted by our college.
Fee Structure And Facilities
This is where our college has an advantage than all. The fee structure is exactly same as according to the Govt norms and no extra fees or charges are collected by the college other than in admission form. The yearly fee for a student through Govt. quota is 40000 yearly excluding hostel, mess and transport fees. It can be paid in two installments or even four installments as per the convenience of parents. The payment can be made through cash, cheque or DD
Fees and Financial Aid
As I was the first scholar in my family, the govt offered me 20000 concession in fees yearly and for the rest I've applied for a educational loan. College on the other hand provides all the required documents and bonafide certificates which need to apply the loan. The help in college have been provided instantly on cases to apply loans and scholarships. Other than this the students with high percentage in their semester also gets fee waiver the following year encouraging others also to do the same.
Campus Life
The gender ratio, diversity based on caste, religion were only in the outside world. once we step inside the campus, we all were one sharing and caring each other in all our studies and lives. Discrimination based on gender or status were not among us. We as a new college were offered with all new equipments and systems in labs and sports room.
Hostel Facilities
No, as my house was in travelling distance from college I've opted out of hostel. But the college provides neat and clean room to the students with 3 students for a room. In case if we wish to take a PG outside the campus, it's available at a rate of 2000 per month excluding food.
Alumni/Alumna
We were the foremost seniors of the college and as a part of alumni network, the update on all our friends are been collected regularly and contacted frequently inquiring about their well being.
Admission
I was fond of machines and automobiles right from childhood, so I decided to choose Mechanical Engineering for my career. I've got the seat through Government counseling. At first I was a little hesitant as it was a new Institution that was going to get started that year. But after some orientation classes they've helped me to join through Govt. quota with reduced fees.
Faculty
Well, as it was a start up college, faculties were almost in their mid ages and not old like in universities. Even the department heads were just like in their early 40s. But that was a great plus for us as they know how to teach and treat the students as the age gap was not much. Though not many are experienced, our principal, secretary and HoD's were been working in many reputed colleges and they were always for us to help us. We could even meet them whenever we want if we have a doubt or problem both in studies and also in personal lives and not restricted as other colleges.
