Prashant A. Deshpande's Review On MET's Institute Of Engineering - [MET], Nashik

I had appreared for the common entrance test MHT-CET. I had scored around 120 marks out of 200. This college had just started and was admitting its first engineering batch. I had heard of MET,Mumbai being a good college and hence visited this institute in Nasik and was very much impressed with the infrastructure and state of the art class rooms and labs.

The course is affliated to the University of Pune. We wrer offered electives in the final year of our engineering which included Robotics, embedded systems. This proved helpful since Robots are an integral part of the place I work for today. We had IEEE exposure as well as IETE.

Since ours was a new college, there was no internship provided. Also it must be mentioned here that industrial internship was not a part of the curriculam.

Also companies were a bit hesitant. However big names such as Bosch & Persistant held their pool campuses in our institute. And though placements were few, today I can safely say that the students of our partiular batch have excelled better than most.

There were robo-races held frequently combined with paper presentations, technical quizzes which were a state level affair. Our annual cultural event lasted a week celebrating various sorts of "days" whioch concluded with the grand finale known as MET-Utsav which saw celebreties as the guest of hounor.

I am not aware of the present senior but during my time there were no scholarships available.The current status can be checked from the college website.

The campus life is great. There are events being held all the time. Be it cultural or technical which give boost to student knowledge and exposure.We had sporting events like tournaments of cricket, table tennis etc. We had students from all corners of India. Girls and boys were almost equal in number.

The university exams were held each semister that is, once every 6 months. We had university practicles that were held before the written theory papers. Internal assessment was done every 2 months to help us gauge our level with respect to the university

The faculty was excellent with in indepth knowledge of the subject they used to teach. They made sure we understood everything that was being taught and were always available in case we needed their extra help. Their focus was more on creating good engine
