The learning years of my life

The college is a very small college. But, inspite of being that it provides basic amenities to us. The teaching was good a few years back but has degraded now. Some of the teachers are good and teach the syllabus very well but some of them aren't good. The placements aren't very nice but the teachers encourage us to go off campus and give interviews. Overall, I would rate my college as average.

I had taken IIT JEE and AIEEE 2012. Even though, i wasnt selected in IIT JEE, but i scored a 100+ marks in AIEEE. But I couldnt get into any NITs. So I joined a Anna University affliated college. I have just given CAT exam and expeting a pretty decent marks. I ama also plannin to give the GATE exam.

The course curriculum is not so tough. The syllabus is also not very vast which makes it easy to finish it up during the exam. But the drawback is that many informative things aren't given in the syllabus which should be learnt by the student at this point of education.

I had attended two internships till now. The first one was in Mumbai in BARC which extended one month. The experience was great. Many things which were always left untouched in the college was learnt by me there. Not only that, I had many friends there who are now very close to me.

The placement in my college is not good. Last few years back, the placement was better and many students were being placed. But our college does not bring in big companies which can offer high packages for us. But many of the students in our colleges have studied more and placed themselves in big companies by attending different interviews from off campus.

Every year, each department celebrates symposiums, which gives us a chance to not only enjoy the event but also enjoy the process by organising the event. There are also many workshops and many of them were organised by me only. Besides, we have also conducted a cultural festival which was a success.

The fee structure according to me is a bit expensive. few years back fees was low and also the studies good. But the fees has risen a lot. This makes difficult for the not so rich students to buy some extra time to pay the fees which then result in fine.

There are also scholarships in our college. The college provides scholarships on the tution fees based on the economical status of the students and the caste of the students. The college also provides scholarships by conducting an exam and awarding the students with the reduction in tution fees according to the marks obtained in the test.

The sports activities are abundant in our college and the students are participating actively in it. they have also won many awards for our colleges. Symposiums, workshops and cultural fests are also being conducted in our college. the symposiums are always a huge success and many colleges come for participating in it but for these the prize awards are not too high.

Even though, I dont stay in hostel but i have seen everything. The hostel rooms are good in size and each student is provided a separate corner protecting their privacy. The mess food is not good. students hate eating the mess food. The final year students get a shared hostel room with only two people in it. The fees of the hostel has risen tremendously this year else, the other years, the fees was low and good.

I have heard about the alumni of our college and they were good as told by my seniors. The seniors on the other hand were experienced by me and I must say the seniors were very good. They were very helpful and come forward to teach us many things in life.

The exams are very frequent. But it doesnt seem hectic because the portion in the internal exams are very less providing a good way for us to study part by part and properly.

The faculty of the college, I would say is not that great, but average. Many of them have the knowledge and know how to present it to the children. While others, who may not have a lot of knowledge about the subject at least try to keep the students interested and teach them.
