The institute follows a course curriculum and syllabus that is approved by AICTE and which balances the technical aspect and the specialised need of maritime domain holistically as a part of the 4 year program. The pattern of examination that is followed is the semester wise pattern of examination. As per the system examinations are to be held twice in a year with a gap of 6 months in between.

Placement and internship support go hand-in-hand as far as the domain of Marine Engineering is concerned. The institute provides support for both of them however students have to to manage things on their own quite a few time. The institute provides us an opportunity for exploring things apart from academics into the domain extra-curricular activities. Host of activities like gym, swimming, sports clubs etc keeps us involved. Not much of event celebration is done however Republic Day and Independence Day are celebrated annually. Infrastructure wise the institute stands among the top Maritime institutes in the country.

Admission to our Institute is based on multiple rounds of testing. By testing I don't mean only the theoretical test of knowledge but interview followed by medical test followed by shortlisting in merit list. After qualifying all the stages of evaluation admission is granted and student is asked to complete the procedural formalities for taking the admission. Since it is one of the best institute for Maritime education in the city of Coimbatore it attracted my attention.

Faculty members and instructors in our institute are mostly those who have served as Marine engineer, technician or any other role in the industry. This provides them with hands on experience and knowledge of the work culture which they try to inculcate in us.
