Hotel management review

College management is very strict sometime it feels like more of school then being in college.

It was direct admission. No test was conducted but college intake was almost full. As college was local and near to my house, i choose this college. If I would have options definitely preferred IHM Chandigarh.

All subjects related to working of hotel. All 4 departments were cover. Food and Service, housekeeping, front office. Dedicated labs were given to each department.

My internship/ training was done at Taj Chandigarh. It was done by my contacts. Some some nice chains came for placements like Radisson, club cabana. Talent and confidence matters a lot for placements.

Only 1 or two companies cameras for placements. Package were never offered on higher side yet college placement means a lot for career.

Many events get celebrated. Among them of them, most celebrated college function was freshers party given to new students of college other festivals like lohri holi teachers day were celebrated regularly. Students prefer long leaves for festivals as most of them were from far places including himachal pradesh.

Fees structure was only higher side as compared to facilities given. It was semester wise that means in two installment. Some fine is always imposed on students as to collect some fees for college breakdown.

Yes was given scholarship once so rewards are given to bright students. It one scores more then 85%per semester. Minimum of 5000 per semester during my college time.

Extracurricular activities were given preference was good to enhance my confidence. Gender ratio is quite lower in hotel management colleges but absolutely safe for girl students.

Never been part of hostel but most of students prefer pg's as hostel most of times feels like school hostel. Pg always cheap and more of independence given which feels good forward boys.

Seniors were really never helpful. Hotel industry is all about contacts and reference. So one should definitely be on touch with seniors to increase opportunities which can be fulfilled.

Exam were semester system as per University rules. Were quite ok. Examiner would come from different cities and even mobile jammer are used during examination. No mobiles were ever allowed.

All subjects were covered food and beverage services, food production, accounts, front office and housekeeping. Generally all teachers were hotel management graduates and some specialized in accounts and other departments.
