I took CET. There are only 4 government colleges in Punjab with this college being the top in the list. So choose this over others.

Well defined the course was well defined and proper books were provided at library.

Internships Opportunities

No there was not stipend. We rather paid to the institutions to get the internships. Otherwise it was a learning experience and very enhancing in terms of technology leanings and exposure.

Placement Experience

Being a very reputed college the college students were invited to most of the campus placement pools organised has multiple opportunities with reputed companies.

College Events

Most exciting part of college. Many events were organised with annual fate,annual funtion for 7 days. Also many technical events were organised which included inter- college events also.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Since it was government college it was not very expensive.Hostel fee was minimal and affordable. Charges were feasible.

Hostel Facilities

Food served in dinner can be improved. Hostel rooms were small in size which should ideally accommodate 1 person but were allotted to 2.

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Exam Structure

We had 3 sessionals during a semester out of which best scores for 2 exams were considered. Final exams were conducted once a semester.

Likes

The infrastructure is great with state of the art labs and equipment
The library is really nice place to study
Lots of hangout spots in and around campus

Dislikes

Less opportunities for core branches as less core companies visit campus
75 percent attendance policy for classes
Very high fees compared to other colleges

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Likes

There are 1 AC Lecture complex()LT with almost a seating capacity of 100-120 students, with smart screens and projector.
NITJ has well maintained 4 Girls hostel and 4-5 boys hostels with proper cleanliness and hostel staff.
They are 7 cafeterias in the Campus, including 3 Nescafe outlets,1 dominos and 3 regular canteens that serve food late night.

Dislikes

Wifi and connection issues in the hostels
Slow response to emails and late approval to applications
The ICE department faculty is quite strict. Tough grading system and administration.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

Likes

I like the most about the college the placement criteria and the way built your confidence
Also the hostel is very good and provide food 4 times
The campus explorer is also very nice according to me

Dislikes

Faculty is not soo well had a lit bit inconvenience
Hostel mess food is not good at some time
Placement is decent and average as like other collage

I like my couse btech with computer science because it has high change to geeting high paying jobs and to build a successful career with my opinion they can improve their faculty with higher education qualification

Gym is provided but only for name, no fame , always full

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

I like the machines that's why I choose the mechanical branch in engineering line. Noida , Gurgoan , Chandigarh , Bengluru and many other areas for improvements in the course curriculum and teaching methods.

The campus is very green and clean. Infrastructure is good and one can feel fresh air here in campus
The faculty is excellent, almost all of the professors and assistant professors have a degree from renowned institutes. So they know their subject and field very well.
Hostels are good and affordable. Although the hostels itself are old, services are good and you get a nice room for the price/rent

Dislikes

The crowd isn't good. Always demotivated to do anything productive regarding studies. Some people are just here for time-pass
Very less site and outdoor visits. For practical experience, they should conduct industrial visits, but that happens rarely
Placements are really Dry and there is decline in company visits for placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

I didn't apply for other colleges. I chose this college as it was near my hometown and there were circumstances which prevented me from going too far from home. That's why, I chose this college. The admission process is simple. You need to have passed your senior secondary education in any central and state board. Exams accepted are JEE Mains and Board examinations. Most of the admissions here are based on counselling sessions, even after that, there is option of direct admission. Admission is quick and can be done by student himself also. Firstly there is no entrance exam for admission in any course except phd. There is a ik gujral and mrsptu counseling for admission. Best placement college in Punjab

60% percentage is needed in PCM course in the senior secondary or in diploma course from any Institute or university. Application form is available online in the university website only. Reservation details are also mentioned in the university websites.
