Distance Learning Arm of UPES

The course curriculum is kept strictly in line with the guidelines for a management program mentioned by the AICTE and UGC. Since it is a 10 months program there is no yearly or semester wise system of examination. Evaluations and assessments are held time to time during the course through tests and assignments. At the end of the course the final examination is conducted for the grant of diploma.

UPES University is a very famous university and its placement rate is also very good. However for the distance learning program you cannot expect the same thing inspite of the fact that the university provides you support in placement. 50% to 60% can easily get placements through on campus offers. One can try opportunities of placement through off campus drives. In terms of internship you are mostly on your own as the college doesn't provide it.

The fee for the course is high as you can expect from the full-time program that the university offers. The cost for the 10 months diploma program is around 73,000 rupees. This has to be paid at the time of taking admission and includes the tuition fee and other related charges.

Uttarakhand State government offers scholarship to the students who are domicile of the state and are either from reserved categories or are from the economically backward sections of the society. The central government through its national scholarship portal also extends financial assistance to the students. Educational loan can also be sought by the students.

As a distance learning student there is nothing much for us to explore in terms of the extra curricular activities. These are more of things to be explored by the students who are enrolled in the full time program offered by the college. Infrastructure wise as we know that the college is a popular one it's top-notch. The regional centre of the university also has nice and sufficient infrastructure support.

I applied for the college by filling in the detailed application form on the official website. I give the CAT exam but since I didn't got good score and I also had to continue my job I opted for a postgraduate diploma program from this university. UPES is a popular University in Uttarakhand and its distance learning arm offers variety of options in the diploma programme. After approval of my application I was asked to complete the admission formalities post which I got the admission in the program.

Since it is a distance learning program we hardly get a chance to interact with the teachers. whatever chance I got to interact with the teachers either through online or through the regional learning centre I can say that they are experienced and have good knowledge of their respective subject. They helped us and made sure that we learn the concepts and it's related things in an easy to grasp manner.
