Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum of B.Com is in line with the UGC approved syllabus. University of Jammu follows a semester wise system of exams. Thus the course has 2 semester exams each year. Assignments are to be submitted during each semester as a part of assessment. Practical exams are conducted at nearby regional centre.

Placement Experience

3

Placement and internship are not good. Since it's a distance education center you can't expect much in terms of internship or placement. Internship has to be done by the students on their own. Placement opportunities are seldom. The University organises job fair were number of companies come to offer job. However looking for placement offers outside is a good option.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee is not to much as compared to full time program. For the first year I paid around Rs 6,500 during admission. The fee is more or less the same for the remaining years. Thus you can complete your 3 years graduation in around 20, 000. This is quite less as compared to B.Com from a private college.

Fees and Financial Aid

Since the fee is not to high one doesn't Require any education loan I guess. However students can avail benefits of scholarship offered by central and state government. The University also offers scholarship to studenst to help them complete their education. Scholarships are offered to Meritorious students based on defined criteria's.

Campus Life

3

Labs at the regional center in my area are good. They are equipped well with all the infrastructure. The classrooms also have smart class based set up to help us learn things in a better way. Events are held like the cultural fest, sports meet, and job fair where students of the college gather.

Admission

Since it's a distance education course admission are granted based on application only. I applied for the course after 10+2 and got the admission. The directorate is the distance learning arm of the University of Jammu. The University of Jammu is a central educational hub in the UT of J&K.

Faculty

3.5

Since it is a distance learning program no regular interaction with facualty takes place. Interaction with teachers happen during weekend classes at the nearest regional centre. The teachers are experienced and have got good skills in terms of making students understand things in and effective manner.

•The course is quite affordable as i have already mentioned • the curriculum doesn't prepare us for real- world applications or further academic pursuits. • Exams are difficult as we all know. Timings are similar to that of exams held in our schools

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course as it helps you to build you career in lot of sector like in banking . The curriculum helps me in lot of aspects I can do many things with this and can pursue further academics. The are that are needed to be improved is the infrastructure of the campus so that students will like to come to college and they will love to study. The exams are taken often but they sometimes hurries a lot, like they did in our 5th and 6th semester, there is only 3mnths gap as we need almost 6mnths to cover the syallabus.
